Their durability needs to be toughened on each beta versions until the screen could withstand common usage scenarios like non-folding screens. My wild guess: three years from now at Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6?

I have Note10+ and I love it. Before that Note 4 was the other great phone. Samsung since Note10+ has put nothing of significance on the table.

This is where the what used to be geek only device Note lineup is going. Should've seen the signs when the Note gets continually mocked for having a stylus. Now it gets reduced to just a third party, non built in accessory.

Note fans don't want no cobbled together garbage, they want a Note phone.... not a s series with great cameras but no expandable storage and a ridiculous stylus solution or a folding phone with great features but substandard cameras, an expensive stylus and ugly stylus storage solutions. Note fans have been well and truly shafted. If xiomi does a stylus phone they'll make a fortune

Mingilo, 13 Aug 2021WHO IS gonna buy this trash ?Obviously not you, or anyone who does not know/like using a s pen, who has never used a galaxy note device and, therefore does not comprehend its utility, always think of the s pen as all the dumb almost useles styluses like the ones LG and motorola included in some models, so, who will buy these s pens? For sure people that like using them because they know them

Also i wonder how the nib feels, perhaps it's quite reminiscence to the Wacom's Felt Nib on their Cintiq Pens?

constipation, 13 Aug 2021Makes me wonder whether this S Pen might uses different pen... moreI think it's the same protocol since older pens are detected by the fold, it pops up a warning saying not to use those pens since they'll damage the screen. If this were N-Trig or something it wouldn't even read them. The pro pen's fold switch is apparently more of a suspension lockout so the nib is cushioned in fold mode and locked in place in regular mode.

Makes me wonder whether this S Pen might uses different pen protocol. S Pen usually uses Wacom EMR, a passive pen technology.

That's what you get by paying a premium for a phone with a plastic screen with a crease, that gets easily scratched, selling prototypes at a premium for rich fools ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cyberchum, 13 Aug 2021This should be common sense. Samsung would be stupid to all... moreHow common were their senses?
The company is losing market shares and you're saying they are using common sense in selling S Pen separately for the Z Fold 3 when they could have incorporated it together inside the box.
The beauty of Fold 3 is S Pen just like Note Series and the company should have allowed the old S Pen work with it fluidly
Their senses should have considered how to win more Consumers instead of losing them to Xiaomi and others

Here come again their stupidity. They want the Consumers to pay more
The company would definitely lose more market shares!
I wonder why their strategies always off from current market dictation.

And it shouldn't, or within hours someone would have screwed up the display with too much force applied to the tip and would blame Samsung for it. This information is actually useful for those out there who would actually try it out.
