Just another phone from Google nobody is going to buy. Not to mention that FP scanner on the back outdated years ago and even much cheaper models include a faster charger.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2021450usd isnt a bad price. it isnt an iphone pro 12$450 not a bad price agreed, but for there. If Google was to launch this here it'd be priced around 600$ as the trend goes. The pixel 3a was almost $600 as well

OhNom, 17 Aug 2021Pixel 4a does not say the same, I lead the sales of Amazon ... moreOkay but the Pixel 4a is still selling for over $400 in this region. Obviously google overpriced it because it's a google phone, but there are much better phones at the same price, example Nord 2

            Buy the samsung a52s 5g
It's better, cheaper(i think) and more powerful with a snapdragon 778g soc, 120 hz amoled display and stereo speakers.

Again and again: google is launching phones just for testing their own apps!
The day they want to be a real competitor they will loose all the pre installed apps in all OEM's. Is that simple.

              P. S. With harmony being released, the pressure is even higher because they can literally loose a lot of money because they will not have data to sell.

most useless launch ever. instead they could have released a pixel 5 pro with headphone jack n sd card slot and 4500 mah battery within same dimensions except 9mm in thickness.

Pixel 4a 5G with a bigger battery and only sold in Japan and US? A very half-hearted iteration which they're not expecting to sell.

I really don't care about screen refresh rates. But not updating the chipset makes this phone obsolete before it ships. Almost the entire point of yearly phone upgrades is for the new chipsets, for the speed and efficiency. I wish they would just put a Snapdragon 888 in this. That, plus aluminum unibody (I hate glass backs), plus 3.5mm jack would almost make this phone perfect. The only thing really missing would be a new in-house chipset, like in the Pixel 6, so that there could be longer security updates.

umohan, 17 Aug 2021Anything on availability? Will it be launched in India? It would probably be launched like last year in some sale with flipkart / Amazon, I hope.

90Hz and 120Hz and up are nothing more than a waste of battery. I have phones with both and yes they are smoother, but it's just a wasteful feature like quad HD screens with 1,800 nits.
