Dudenoway, 25 Aug 2021Does privacy actually do anything? NO. It doesn't. It&... moreI've never read such nonsense.
Lack of privacy is a PROVEN and HUGE issue, I literally gave you examples, and people far more competent and knowledgeable than both you and I together have both warned and showed how privacy is important.

I never said it is everything, you are just so oblivious to it that when I actually explain how it is, you see it this way.
And again, the same argument as "if you don't want to have your house robbed, just become homeless", don't you even realize that nowadays many MANDATORY things are only accessible through online means, including some from Smartphones?
It shouldn't be for the user to make compromises, but rather for the offenders to be limited.

Identity thief is an EXTREMELY COMMON occurrence :
https://www.identityforce.com/blog/identity-theft-odds-identity-theft-statistics

*In 2019, 14.4 million consumers became victims of identity fraud — that’s about 1 in 15 people
*Overall, 33 percent of U.S. adults have experienced identity theft, which is more than twice the global average

"It doesn't actually affect u in any way"
Do you realize how bad can identity thief get?
*Emotional distress is reported by 77.3 percent of identity theft victims
You can literally get to jail for something you didn't do.

How can someone be crazy enough to write both those two sentences in the same answer ?
"It's jus tpure bs. But it's ur paranoid so u think privacy is everything."
" Like srsly I bet u are being heard and u are being watched."

You have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUES whatsoever what you are talking about.
Cookies? You think that's the extent of the issue? You think there isn't EASY WAYS to take care of them?
Someone that ignorant of a subject shouldn't be allowed to make statements about it, it would fix many problems worldwide.

But it's ur paranoid so u think privacy is everything. Thing is. No one forced u to not use tech. I just gave u an idea cuz u value privacy. Otherwise I know it all ur reasons blah blah blackmailing identity thief and blah blah. It doesn't actually affect u in any way. Like srsly I bet u are being heard and u are being watched. Its just thta if u value privacy u should prob stop using Google or any app cuz they use cookies which will break ur limits of privacy.

Dudenoway, 24 Aug 2021Privacy... Its the stupidest thing uve ever said. If u real... moreYeah, I have to not use tech because capitalism push to make awful things, rather than the logic and ethical choice of having techs that isn't anti consumer, but this is me who say stupid things, sure.
This is the same logic as saying "if you don't want to risk getting robbed, just become homeless".

If there is so much privacy gaps, it is EXACTLY because you and other like you react EXACTLY like you did.
A privacy intrusion vector? "Oh, who care, there are others anyway, just let it be, who care that it is being actively exploited, and we could do something about it".
This is EXACTLY how ALL of them are still there or got implemented in the first place.

Again, I'll stop hating on this tech exactly when people, news media and OEMs will STOP to force push this thing into being the ONLY available option.
If it wants to pretend to be the only available option, it better live up to the expectations, this INCLUDES privacy, among OTHER things.

Also, based on what you said, you clearly know nothing about privacy, it isn't just about what is already known, but also about what can be learned.
Why do you think censorship, lack of privacy and dictatorship goes together?
Because when the government do something bad, people can't fight against it if they can't communicate, relay the information and risk to get arrested or worse when stopping a country from going rogue.
This is because of privacy that Whistleblowers are able to make known awful things and help stop them.
The fact that Google knows that yesterday I looked for the Tula in GTA V or if a certain woman has an OnlyFans won't ever matter, compare to the real things that are in the play.
EXACTLY like how, in China, the Uighurs are LITERALLY tracked using FRONT FACING CAMERA right now.
The ONLY THING that prevent some countries we see as Democratic to turn into a big dictatorship mess is internet that allow for fast and wide communication and privacy that allow to share information without taking risks.
Privacy also has to do with tons of other things, like protecting yourself against identity thief which is an INCREDIBLY COMMON thing, or even blackmails and other vengeance.

        Otherwise, you know what?
Let's just remove the camera on the smartphones and simply put cameras EVERYWHERE, literally, so there isn't a single place, in cities, in your own home, including your bathroom, where you can't have a good picture and video call angle.
All of them with a 5G connection, as literally 5G is intended for that, for the Internet of Things.
Since you don't care about privacy, it sounds like the perfect idea for you, corporations and government would sure found this, and it solves the front camera issue.

AnonD-909757, 23 Aug 2021Let me correct you : 1) Once in 2 years, everyone will reg... morePrivacy... Its the stupidest thing uve ever said. If u really want privacy. U have to live in an area where r th ere is no government make a whole custom phone which has 100% privacy and yea bam. Cuz 1st. Even when u realized that privacy is big factor for u by the time u degoogle ur phone Google knows all bout u. Plus most of the time government sells all the data bout u and phone manufacturer can know ur info by using ur ip address. So please stfu and if u hate us camera go away. I respect ur opinion just pls don't hate on it

            1) Once in 2 years, everyone will regret this stupid tech being the only available option after it will have proved it can't improve past a certain limit and only bring downsides and even issues, YOURS tears will be delightful, seeing how you'll feel stupid.

            2) But in the meantime, as you don't realize your own stupidity, you are just acting like an egocentric, egoistic selfish who like that all phones match HIS OWN preferences.
Which is funny as you don't realize it enforce the smartphone market lack of diversity and how phones are all the sames, and the day they'll start to ALL incorporate a feature you'll hate (providing you aren't too much of a sheep, and you are still able to like or dislike something unrelated of how popular it is), you'll be crying for it too.

            3) But, when people like you will realize how much you should have considered privacy, but it will be too late for that, it will be hilarious to see you crying to be a victim of something you took part in creating.

So yeah, say that I cry now, we'll see who will endup crying later.

And I'll stop judging underdisplay camera the day people, news media and OEMs will stop trying to make it the only available option despite being a privacy nightmare on top of having so much issues.
Was this supposed to be only an option among many others, I wouldn't care, and I would let it be.
Also, regardless how many gens it has, without software, the result will always stay awful.
And where it is an issue is that every single other front facing camera solutions worked fine/perfectly since the first model/prototype.
This thing is an anomaly, and not a positive one.

alcatraz, 23 Aug 2021Heavy for its size. 😀 232gr for 131cm2 of screen estate ... moreAs long as it is around the 6.5" to 7", it isn't as if the weight to size was that relevant, if it was 5.5" and has its current size, yeah, sure, but here this isn't really a problem.
And I'd prefer a heavier phone with a stainless steel or titanium frame over a lighter and more fragile one.
Also, the Poco F2 Pro is one of the best in terms of internal space utilization, it doesn't even have a camera bump.

And well, if diversity was a thing, we would have such kind of things, like light and thin or light enough and big phones with pop up, but for some reasons I can't understand, people fight against that, so we are stuck with having all phones being more or less the same...

AnonD-909757, 22 Aug 2021Why this is hilarious? Because the selfie quality still is... moreWell u see. More than 50% of people don't use front camera. And plus this is just the 2nd gen stop judging just the 2nd gen

232gr for 131cm2 of screen estate is quite good 1.77gr/cm2. (mate20x)

                      189gr for 114cm2 is very good 1.66gr/cm2. (axon30)

219gr for 107cm2 is not so good 2.05gr/cm2. (poco f2)

                        Honor X10 (pop up) : 203g
                        Poco F2 Pro (pop up) : 219g
                        Samsung S21 Ultra : 227g
                        Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra : 234g
                        Xiaomi Mix 4 : 225g
                        Redmi Note 10 Pro : 193g
                        Axon 30 : 189g

                        Vivo iQOO 8 Pro : 205g
Sure, there are lighter phones, but phones with pop up aren't that heavy, with some being in the average, and the Axon is simple on the lighter side with phones like the Redmi 10 at 181g, the Pixel 5a at 183g or the Redmi Note 10 at 178.8g being the lightest top 10 trending phones of the week, not the other way around, even the iPhone 12 Pro Max at 228g is heavier than the Poco F2 Pro, considering some phones, like gaming phones are near 240g.
Also, how can someone find a sub 250g thing "too heavy"?

                        "and they have small screens."
                        Honor X10 (pop up) : 6.63"
                        Poco F2 Pro (pop up) : 6.67"
                        Samsung S21 Ultra : 6.8"
                        Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra : 6.81"
                        Xiaomi Mix 4 : 6.67"
                        Redmi Note 10 Pro : 6.67"
                        Axon 30 : 6.92"
                        Poco X3 Pro : 6.67"
                        Vivo iQOO 8 Pro : 6.78"
Also, perfectly among the average in a world where phones are often consider too big to begin with.

I don't care about selfie quality. This is what I've been looking for.

If I can't have a lightweight phone without a selfie camera and a big screen then this will do.

Pop up camera phones are heavy and they have small screens. No thanks.

When 6.92in is among the first available UDC then that gives me hope that I can get a 7.2 or 7.5 inch phone that I've always dreamed about. A phone I can work on but isn't like a fugly gaming phone thick or heavy.

Because the selfie quality still is awful, not just bad, but really proper awful, and there are still conditions where we see the camera's pixels.

Yet, this is supposed to be "the perfect solution that will replace everything else".
