2 things.
1. Battery could've been bumped up to 5000mAh, but they didn't.
2. Global markets so custom ROMs don't suffer like their crappy 9R and Nord2, but they didn't.
OnePlus should change their slogan from "Never Settle" to "But we don't".

Similarly, people who care about photography (i.e., use the smartphone to take vacation photos) are acutely aware of the camera software quality, camera sensors, type of lenses, and whether any of the cameras has OIS.

Same strategy like apple. 7t and 7t pro were both flagships. Even then what you say 5 phones.. Look what happened including oneplus 8 and everything in between.. oneplus 8, 8 pro, 8 5g uw, 8 5g tmobile, nord.. oneplus 8t, 8t 5g ,nord n100, nord n10 5g, 9 handsets.. You can deny all you want.. but go search youtube.. oneplus is nobody’s favourite brand anymore for big youtubers. Oneplus was a special enthusiast brand.. and now it is a generic oppo mobile..

However, probably the largest market for this will be China where the Nord series is not sold at all so it makes sense in China. In India the option of the Nord 2 will also exist so the market positioning will be a little more complicated. I'd expect this to have OIS

YUKI93, 19 Aug 2021Basically a Nord 2 with Snapdragon 870 chipset.The Nord 2 has a plastic frame, a smaller 90 Hz display, 8 MP ultra wide angle sensor, no macro lens and USB 2.0, too much differences to say that.

And btw don't forget inferior MediaTek ISP ,It can't take full advantage of IMX766

If the Nord 2 has OIS and the 9RT doesn't, doesn't that make the Nord 2 superior? It also has more supported bands and global availability. Also, I see people recommending the 8T over the Nord 2. Why? The Nord 2 has a superior rear camera. The Dimensity 1200 is more than adequate. Are people jumping on the 8T and 9RT because of the Snapdragon chips? I received my Nord 2 yesterday and it's great.
