what you need to know is they are twice as durable as last year foldables,
what you don't need to know that they are 10% as durable compared to any non-foldable phones.

I am using Samsung since Note 1 and the recent one I have is Note 20 Ultra. These foldable look good however I still have my doubts about spending a big amount on these (Due to durability and hinges). Goodbye to Samsung if they don't bring up the Note series back.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2021you only see the world your way and no other. People don... moreWhat a flawed logic...

Diversity means that there is a bit of everything available, NOT that 50% of the phones have a teardrop notch and the 50% others have a punch hole with a ridiculously small amount of phones having anything else.
Things like wireless charging, NFC, IR and 3.5mm Jack are NON-INTRUSIVE features, regardless if you like them or not, you can PERFECTLY have a phone with those, just not use them with absolutely no drawbacks, hence those should be mandatory except in special cases (extremely cheap phone, size or weight constraint, portless device, etc).
While other, design oriented aspect for instance, like bezel/notch/punch hole/pop up/flip up/slider, waterfall/curved/flat display, size, thickness, etc, should NOT be universal.
NOR one of those should by itself make up the almost entirety of the market, this is NOT diversity.
Literally nail clipper (just an example, works with absolutely everything other than smartphones and tablets) have more diversity than smartphones.

Evil or not, supporting that OEMs only do ONE thing that suit YOU, is highly arrogant, egocentric and egoistic.

In MY explanation of the market (which, again, is basically EVERY MARKET, except the smartphone one), YOU can EASILY find multiple phones that suit YOUR need, and SO CAN I, and except someone with extremely specific wishes, everyone else does.
      THAT is diversity.

Some people think that these choices are good and express their opinion by buying the product. If enough people buy the product the company gets the feedback to continue in this trend.
I love curved screens and I buy curved phones. I dont care about the 3.5 jack as I dont listen to music and my wireless headphones are convinient for the spoken word content. And about the punch hole, I rather have a punchhole than think bezzel or a notch.
These are my opinions and thats what I like.
Am I an evil person now? You have to realise that people might have different opinions than you.
        Thats diversity.

Sadly, this is accepted as normal in the smartphone market...

Just pre-ordered mine. Should arrive by August 27. Ordered it from the Samsung site to get the $150 credit.

Wanted cream. Then saw the cases for it. Went with phantom black to match the case. Not waiting an extra 12 days for the cream. My last flip phone, RAZR V3, was in matte black too.

Can't wait. My first phone I'm buying after 15 years. Haven't used a RAZR since December 2007. Flip3 is not the best phone of 2021 but it's the one more people want.

Don't you realize that all those craps happen because there are people supporting them?

Loss of the 3.5mm Jack, curved edges display everywhere, punch holes, etc.
All those things are the fault of the community.
And people doing that don't realize they are shooting a bullet in their own feet too.
Those who supported the removal of the 3.5mm Jack will cry when the USB port will be removed too.
Once OEMs find a new stupidity that EVERYONE will hate, which I think the UDC, once the hype will be calmed down, will be just that, everyone will regret that they don't do diversity and to have supported this.

It's crazy how people like you don't realize the reach of your comments...
Not YOUR comment by itself, of course, but yours along with all the similar ones.
And since the smartphone community is so toxic, no wonder the smartphone market is one of the worst of the planet in terms of diversity (literally, nail cutter have much more diversity than smartphones) and respect of the users/customers...

IP rating have also its limits because usualy is tested in plain water where phone remains in one posioton.
Try to swim in salt water such as seas even for 1-2 minutes and phone dies immediately.
IPXX ratings are nothing just an expensive gimmicks not worth havinng them in phone.

The level of hate this feature receive is almost supernatural, people who literally could just totally ignore it have to constantly and actively want to have it disappear, the funny part is that the same are also super furious when you say some ugly truths about other features that they, themselves, like, this is top level arrogance right here...

I have debunked every single supposedly downsides of the pop up, they aren't perfect, sure, but they aren't worse than any other alternatives, but people ALWAYS ignore the proofs and just resume their anti-pop up agenda.
If it is indeed a gov/corporates fit, they did it so well, because I see many acting like literal brainwashed zombies about it.
Most don't even know why they don't like/hate it.

This is thanks to them that we discovered that the front camera was actively used to spy on users, prior to that we only suspected it.
And the excuse given about why the camera did pop out when on certain websites or launching certain apps was totally BS, "it load camera related code, which make it pop up, but it doesn't use it".
In this case, why doesn't the Camera app, or any apps that can use the front camera for that matter, when not directly using it, doesn't make it pop up?
Even Snapchap, Instagram and all that, if they open with the main cameras (last used one), the pop up won't pop.

Of course that they don't, and this is sad, people also are too ignorant about privacy and while they know absolutely nothing about it, they still talk as if they do and think you are an idiot for saying things despite those having been proven a while ago.
I even once had a guy laughing at me because I said that we can find leaked passwords on the deep web...
Even after explaining about deep web surveillance features of some passwords managers and anti-virus, he still thought I was a conspiracy theory nut...

                                        People are a lost cause!
