The panel stretches over the whole side, the camera is now under the display.

Xiaomi MI Mix Alpha did better than this.

Haha, what a complete failure. While we all hate curved displays, the chinese comes up with this thing..

darodassa, 24 Aug 2021lmao. it's always grandma who says "oh what about... morewe don't all think the same, and thankfully I am one who doesn't think like you, or type like you.
everyone is allowed to use their device exactly how they want...it is like anything else, it can be used for protection and customisation.

don't like people being individual ? deal with it

I hate curved displays. I would never ever consider a phone like this render.

Don't belittle other people who have different thoughts from you

MATE 30 PRO, 24 Aug 2021@Huawei Please, just one rear camera module, not two !!!I guess you wanted to say "one housing", not module

i wonder what will happen when people play faster / engaging games and involuntarily, and unavoidably, clasp repeatedly the edges of the phone. on/off, volume, camera buttons all over the place? :)

mmm, similar to mi mix alpha

Looks stunning but functionality would suffer. Even Samsung's edge screens weren't as comfortable to use as normal flat panels because some of the screen space wasn't in direct contact with your sight altough parts of the content were actually shown there.

You don't need an expensive fragile curved screen for virtual volume control. I use a Poco X3 NFC and control the volume virtually from the quick settings menu and use an app to turn off the screen without using any physical buttons. It has face and fingerprint unlock and I haven't touched the physical volume buttons or power button (other than touching for fingerprint reader) since I bought the phone and they work perfectly. The volume slider appears on the screen so no problems with using a case either. Personally I don't understand the need for curved phone screens and this one in particular looks ugly to me as well as impractical.

YUKI93, 24 Aug 2021Lol, jokes on you. People ALWAYS have cases on the phone.Yes, because they are too clumsy or bought the wrong phone. Or, they stretchted to afford the phone in the first place and now they have to treat it like it's worth millions and cannot get a scratch. Anyone who manages to crack something built simple like an iPhone could have gotten a CAT S60. They just don't care or are too dumb to figure this out/compare the products. The fact that "all" people have a case doesn't mean no one should (!) need a case, which still stands. People shouldn't need a case if they buy the right phone for their lifestyle and treat it right.

If you're willing to handle cheap plastic all day, go ahead. There are good reasons to get a case, like for 12 year olds that are expected to drop their phone every 5 minutes, mine workers and people on construction sites etc..

                        Accidental touches all day.

YUKI93, 24 Aug 2021Unless if Huawei uses both sides of the curved screen for n... morelmao. it's always grandma who says "oh what about the case, but HoW dO I pUT A CaSE oN iT!!!11!!1!!!" when facing new high tech. man I've been using a fold for a year, no case, no nothing and it's still fine. Never once thought about a case, it's only OTHERS who always get super scared like "o noe itz gunna break" when they see it...

I don't know if you people really are that clumsy or just obsessed with plastic wraps even on the sofa but I wouldn't even consider putting a $2 silicone case on something this beautiful, expensive and high tech. What do I need to protect the device for if all I touch and see is crappy plastic from some case or screen protector? looks trash, just be careful.

Very cool; Technology and Art merging together. BEAUTIFUL. Hopefully, Huawei can be marketed in the US once again.

This is not worth the money and definitely not worth for the R&D department.

Yeah they might have achieved something but what it is, it's completely impractical
