If Realme has a tablet, its parent, Oppo of course will not be far behind as well as sister company Vivo.

The majority of people who use tablets (not just Android tablets but all of them), use them for media consumption and social media (maybe light gaming). The top 30 or so apps on both iOS and Android are used so much that they have been optimized for tablets since the beginning (including browsers) so I don't see how there's "virtually no software features or apps" when the top apps in the world work on any tablet running Google play services. You don't know what you are talking about. Literally 99.9% of people cycle through 5 or 6 (Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, etc) and use the mobile browser and all of those work flawlessly even on budget Android tablets.

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2021because that time most android user didnt pay the apps , th... moreWhen l first got into iOS (and macOS) development, I really liked it but it didn't last long. l got frustrated with the terrible documentation, buggy Xcode and other Apple developer tools and constantly having to bend over for Apple's backward@$$ rules
(which they don't follow themselves... smh) and even when following them, still getting rejected for some different reason but never getting any feedback from Apple other than "No!".l was very happy when l moved away from iOS development and back into Android.
Apple's platforms frustrating as they are so so limiting and l see that just getting worse with the move to their own silicon and macOS turning more into iOS.
Also the Apple developer culture, it is weird *af*. lt is like a damn cult at times! So many
times l have seen people defend a clearly terrible move by Apple because "but it's Apple, you don't know better than Apple, they know what they're doing". Lot's of great people but too many seem to have drunk the KoolAid and can't see the wood from the trees these days.
This is even worse right now with the new M1 devices
showing a lot of improvements (bigger than expected) and people are flipping out with praise for Apple. But developing them isn't as easy.
While the pay was still quite good for iOS work, l found it very unfulfilling and boring with more and more of my time solving process (i.e. App Store) issues than development ones.
l was in a very fortunate position in that l could give up that extra 5-10% that iOS would get me and do a job l actually enjoy. To me that is worth way more than a 5% bigger payslip each month. l also do less unpaid overtime now, so really it probably
does balance out financially anyway.
l moved onto Android where everything is open source and no restrictions like we have on iOS. I can always release my app standalone on a website or any of the other app stores, if I decide to skip Google playstore. l love not having to submit to the App Store
review process, if it runs on staging for a while without issue l can deploy when I want. lf l want to use some third party library l can... (providing the content creators reviewing how fast it can render video but Big Sur on M1 is even more locked down and that
means the computer is less a computer and more an appliance)

they lack software prowess and polish
they boast on paper specs every time but once you turn the thing on and see how horrible everything looks, how janky it feels and how theres virtually no software features or apps it's a waste
only samsung is a viable choice. they've been in the game for years and have mature tablet features and productivity apps along with DeX, microsoft collaboration and whatnot, foolish to think these companies can just hop in and copy iPad hardware and call it a day

Foldables are not matured yet. They are ungly and heavy, even the fold3 is over 220 gram and it looks awful when folded. We will have proper foldable phones but it will take a couple of years to arrive. In the meantime these brands should realise more 7 inches phones, such as the Huawei mate 20x, that makes way more sense to me. Phablets don't need to be folded and they're lighter, no brainer.

Foldable are not the future, rollable are.
Anyway, the technology is green and therefore there is no cost-benefit for the consumer today.

Android has been missing iPad alternatives for years now and finally people have options if they want an Android tablet. It's a win-win for manufacturers and consumers. Some people just literally want an IPad with Android and these companies deliver. It's a good thing.
