Hey people, it's not a phone! It's a mini computer that just happens to make phone calls and take photos. I can see businesses using this kind of thing instead of phones.

    The whole point of the Duo is to be a tool used to increase productivity. MS does a LOT of research before producing things like this now. If I can afford it, I may just go ahead and get it. I loved the Windows phone line, owning three of them before MS gave up on the platform. I miss using them. It was the only phone that would actually READ my text messages aloud in my 2012 Nissan, and that system was meant for the iPhone. I prefer to stay in one ecosystem, and back then it was my 24” all in one PC, my Xbox 360, and my Windows phone. I used Spotify for music streaming. Now I’m in Googles ecosystem. I love the way the new Windows looks. I may just ditch my chrome book this year.

              I thought, great, just after I buy a surface this comes out. But it's android, and twin display. An LG.

              Why can't they make three outside fold tablet phones, instead of the garbage going around now.

                  Fold can be used as a phone as well as a tablet making it more versatile tbh I would prefer a normal phone with Dual Screen case like LG

No need to ... moreDevice actually does multitasking a lot better than single display Android device no matter how big it is. Android is simply not made to multitask properly on a single screen, app resize in illogical way, there is no content control cause Android developers never thought of an idea to separate content from the design frame and app actions and so on.

                        I ussually like Microsoft products, but I don't understand what they are trying to accomplish here. It has triggered no interest so far, obviously it doesn't aim to pocketability neither striking design. Cameras? Meh...

                        I think Samsung's approach is way more interesting.

                          Microsoft should learn to kill bad ideas early. No need to double down on a poor idea. It is not the cameras that killed it. The device is pointless. They need something different.

The fact that I can enjoy YouTube videos while playing mobile games or console emulators at the same time is a complete no brainer. Same story when using the browser to find pieces of information like food recipes while doing live streaming.

                                Could be a nice rival to z fold 3. Idk if it's same kind of Concelt the z fold series has but still. Also I wish they bring the huawei mate x2 camera the fold 3 display and maybe even the mate x2 wedge design and no crease at the price of the z fold 3. Hopefully the crease isn't big either.

                                  It's crazy because the people who actually own the Surface Duo actually love theirs. It's actually very polarizing and owners of it have opposite feelings to the general consensus.

                                  True, it's buggy. But as a media consumption device and even for business, it's actually quite amazing at it. And the dual display looks more practical than foldables. Apps can go full screen. No need to be optimized to Flex mode or whatnot.

                                  On my Flip3, I can't view Netflix like I can with YouTube. I can't view it portrait unless PiP. On landscape, I need to set it like a normal slab or bend it to keep it standing which is awkward viewing.

                                  The dual display solution seems more practical. Playing emulators while the other screen plays YouTube is something that can't be done with my Flip3.

                                    After using my Flip3 for about 7 hours, I'm starting to question the purpose of foldables. I was aware of the crease. I don't mind seeing the crease. But I didn't realize how much it bothers me when scrolling over it. I just don't like the feeling of it. Perhaps I'll get used to it but I'm not liking it so far.

                                    I'm starting to question the purpose of foldable screens altogether? The Flip3 is still a tall and heavy phone. It's about 72 mm wide. When closed, it's 2.5x thicker than a normal slab especially with a leather case I put on it. Being great with in-hand feel it is not.

                                    I'm starting to think foldables is a gimmick like the Nintendo Wii. It's a cool concept at first but it gets boring and cumbersome as time goes on. MKBHD is a skeptic with them. Are people just excited because it's different and are bored from the last 4 to 14 years with the same old slabs?

I had my share of experience with Samsung's foldable screen smartphone before and it's safe to say that I will stay with dual display solution, especially when there is a detachable case like LG's DualScreen case.
