It's just Google's way of telling people it's time to upgrade.

There is one growing concern from my Pixel 3. It doesn't charge as fast like before. At times, it charges really, really slow that I would need to restart it again if I want it to charge faster. But I guess charging slowly is a good thing because fast charging can ruin battery being it generates too much hate. Lithium ion/polymer batteries and heat don't mix. Even wireless charging can be bad

I'm also not too worried of the 4 GB of RAM. I'm aware of this issue back in 2018. Yes, YouTube needed to refresh again if I opened another app. It does get annoying when I lose my entire comment. But my Flip 3 with the double the RAM did the same thing. Could be the app itself. Even my 12 mini did this so it's not exclusive to just Android.

My Pixel 3 aces every category below except battery.

      Design
      Ergonomics
      Display
      Battery
      Camera
      Software
      Sound
      Reliability

      Weaknesses
      Pixel 3: Battery
      Essential: Camera
      Flip 3: Battery
      iPhone SE: Battery
LG G5: Battery, Software, & Reliability

I really only need a phone to excel in two key areas. Reliability and software experience. I hate seeing jank. Reliability is hard to see early. Takes years to find out. Battery isn't my #1 thing like before only because my power banks are nearby and topping it off to 80% is just something I get used to. So I never really see the SOT from a full charge.

Just turned on my Pixel 3 for a few seconds to see if it turns on. As expected, it works perfectly fine. Best smartphone I've ever had. Smooth UI. Great ergonomics. Great camera. Great speakers. Excellent display. "Good enough" battery life for a moderate user. Still prefer it more than my new baby, the Flip 3.

Frankly, in PR terms, it ruins them. They should replace device bricked as a gesture, if not the same model, at least an upgrade.

It makes sense to me, since I remember Google underclocking the SD845 on that phone, which resulted to its performance being considerably worse than other competing Android devices using the same SoC at that time. It was pretty much just as good as a mid range phone in 2018 because of that.

It was due to the variation of the panel supplier, in which the smaller Pixel 2 had a Samsung display while the XL gets LG, and at that time LG still hasn't fully polished their smartphone OLED screens.

Right when LG is finally nailing it right with their phones that barely have any hardware issue for a few consecutive years, they decided to vanish.

Surely with the never-ending occurrence of ridiculous hardware problems on Pixels, it's better to stay away from them for now until they get their quality control standards right again for a modern day premium flagship phone.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2021It's buggy to begin with every new update installed. Says an Anon who never held iPhone in person, let alone used one for several years... I ahve and your claim is utter bulls**t.

Well, I guess these bugs might explain why LG/HTC took ages to push updates to their devices. Same for Xperia.

If Google can't even keep such small amount of models running well, that's a shame really since other OEMs like Samsung and Xiaomi not only have to provide updates to many more models but have to develop new features not available in stock Android as well.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2021You had one job Google. One jobGoogle's actually has two "jobs". To engage in the prolific act of data trafficking, and to shunt ads on all electronic devices.

Selling Pixel phones, and the development of Android and Chrome are merely vehicles to spread their wings far and wide to maximise the volume of data harvesting, whilst duping users in Google's cash-for-clicks for itself.

                          Google is a bar stirred.
