Chixby, 09 Sep 2021No not all of them! And for bugs... every new update fixe... moreFunny how MIUI 12.5 phones have continous problems when my Redmi 9A that's stuck on MIUI 12 is relatively bugfree. Also, about the ads, it only appears on a few of Xiaomi's apps and when I'm installing apps on my phone. Not too much of a bother to me, but I can definitely see why people are a little irritated.

JoaMir, 09 Sep 2021They really make it sound like 3 years' worth of updat... moreIf the smartphone manufacturer's got a piece from Google's play store cake profits based on the Xiaomi, Samsing, Oppo etc devices they are operating on, then that would probably be more obtainable. As the HW manufacturers would get continuous revenue also from the use of their devices.
Right now they primarily make their money from the hardware sale itself, and if they are to include 7 years of software support in the price, then surely the price of their devices will have to increase. Or they have to look into other solutions, such as ads, promoting their own app store or extended support as an additional paid (subscription) service.
It doesn't help that customers ask for 7 years, or whatever, of support if they aren't willing to accept that it comes at a cost.

They really make it sound like 3 years' worth of updates is a privilege when it should be the basic support system. Ideally 5 to 7 or more. For crying out loud, 2G phones lasted 10+ years and updates were not a thing.

It's because that first one is usually there to impress

This is not entirely true as the A1 and A2 run android one so they were also guaranteed updates for so many years like the current gen Nokia phones.
