Xiaomi Pad 5 in for review

This one packs a Snapdragon 860, which is quite fast in the land of tablets. And it has great multimedia skills with Dolby Vision and quad speakers.

        Hi, does anybody know if they will launch the mi pad 5 pro variant as well? I really prefer the pro variant and I want to wait for it if it will be launch soon.

          Hey GSMArena, please please please try to test/find out if the tablet supports an external monitor (like the Samsung Tab S7, for example), since the processor is powerful enough to allow this (the SD 860 is theoretically more powerful than the SD 855) but I couldn't find anywhere if the Mi Pad 5 supports it or not. Thank you!

            Lenovo Pad Plus 2021 can be had for 266USD. It has weaker SoC 750G but has utility far greater than Xiaomi Pad 5. For example:

            1. A much better desktop mode support, Xiaomi's way behind in this department, the feature is not even present on release.

            2. Lenovo has USB 3.0 (3.1 or 3.2) for type C, video-out support too. This is wher the desktop mode comes handy also watching movies would be so much better with the family on the large TV.

            3. Pen latency is so much better and the stylus is so much cheaper compared to that of Xiaomi, Xiaomi accessory prices are unjustifiably much more expensive.

            IMO, Xiaomi crippled the hardware just to get the SD800 SoC which heavily limits its utility. Tablets are already a niche device. Limiting its utility where it can excel the most compared to smartphones heavily lessens its purchase probability.

              Holy sh*t. Why the heck Miui/Android still can't make the gesture bar background transparent like on iOS? The gesture bar is taking a lot of space at the bottom when using the tablet in landscape mode. It looks so atrocious!!

                      Unless you absolutely care for about 5g network and calling, the MI Pad 5 is a great deal

                          It's nice that Xiaomi released new tablets but not publishing some accessories or even Pro models globally is a low punch for fans outside China. I would love to see the reason why they can't release stuffs globally.

                            The fantastic green color seems to not come either. Same as the white faceplate ipad is not a thing anymore. Still finna get me one of these tho.
