They couldn't even make a screen that lasted more than 3 months on my 4a5g (just stopped working no drops or damage) not gonna trusted a folding device.

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2021We all knew and still know what huawei is cooking Smartphon... moreTBH i absolutely hated Huawei EMUI they never improved the UI year on year and looked really bad.

Good thing Xiaomi is rapidly improving MIUI and the old versions we had 3-4 years ago are a farcry from what we have currently.

I hope MIUI 13 improves on it.

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2021It surprised noone. At the time it was looking like Samsung... moreWe all knew and still know what huawei is cooking Smartphone-wise. Not military-wise though. But who cares really. Huawei is done with, xiaomi is the new "east" company to brag about.

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2021It surprised noone. At the time it was looking like Samsung... morePoint is not who was surprised. Point was that it was not leaked.

If we go with your statements, then this Pixel Fold will be super unsurprising and a sorry attempt by Google to mimic Samsung. Who cares. That's a different story. Has it been leaked yet? No. Was the original Fold leaked? No.

Stick to the point.

TruthBeTold, 16 Sep 2021Sounds like some major bs. A huge release like this would&... moreWhen a company wants to keep a secret, they can do it. Rest assured. Just because everything gets leaked does not mean "everything" will.

No one anticipated the sledgehammer that Threadripper was gonna be by AMD until they actually announced it in 2017.

Yeah Google does not care about leaks as its free marketing but this time, it looks like they are all in with the Pixels. And personally, me and my Flip 3 will be super excited.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2021Do u remember the launch of original galaxy fold?? No rumor... moreSamsung makes its own hardware especially screens (except for the chipset which was shared among the 2 phones). Google buys parts from other companies, and when there would be deals to buy those parts, then there would be leaks

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2021Do u remember the launch of original galaxy fold?? No rumor... moreIt surprised noone. At the time it was looking like Samsung's sorry attempt to catch up with Huawei (which at the time was on the rise and had a much more impressive looking foldable released already).

Maybe (Samsung) surprised people in the West who never get anything (truly innovative) from China so assume those don't release...

But the more pressing thing is mate 50 Pro is poised to release later this year equipped with a LTPO Display..

Google never releases something without infinite leaks before. I give this rumor 0% chance of happening

Umm..
I dont see Pixel 6 on the list.
IF it's not using LTPO, Shiouldn't it be cheaper then, BY a LOT (Considering no Telephoto as well).

AnonD-940827, 16 Sep 2021Fold beta. Good luck with that. It will be optimized like the Fold 2

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2021im in and all for the scroll devices .. not fold i think i... moreI wish I could say the same thing - but im doubtful this will be consumer ready anytime soon.

The problem is the sliding/scrolling screen sitself. Have you tried the Motorola Razr? In an obvious attempt to avoid the crease and to give it a gap-less fold, the screen bends, slides and moves a little when opening and closing. It felt flimsy, somewhat unstable and a little bit too fragile to use. Do you see where it is now? Im afraid rollable screen will employ the same technique and unlike samsung which only has to worry about central foldable area, rollable screen will have at least half the screen bending and rolling, so it it may be harder to protect and to stabilize.

I would however be one of the first ones to line up when this tech becomes available.

Please can guess when would iPhone enter foldable phone
