Android Man, 21 Nov 2012yes that would be why the Samsung Note 2 battery last like ... more5 days? What, standy time?

The note 2 is big and very bulky tablet like phone. Still, it only has enough juice for 8hrs and 48 minutes of surfing, or 11 hours and 27 minutes of video playback, or 16 hrs and 57 minuts of talk time. No where near the much smaller RAZR MAXX, which even still has a bigger battery.

Even the RAZR i's Intel has proved to be quite kind on the battery offering over 20 hours of talk time from this very small device.

Most normal sized high end phones should offer 2500 - 3300 mAh batteries, and larger ones - 5" and up - should reach 3500 - 4000 mAh capacity. Then not only Motorola customers would be able to use their phones all day long.

And all the software will be out of date by the next year because it'll decide you need 32 cores to run android 9.5 or whatever they have pushed by that point. And the battery will last half hour if you actually use it. My 600 MHZ single core iphone 3gs has the latest software and it's 3 years old. If android can do that, maybe ill think about switching.

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2012More core is more energy efficient vs performance.. On ... moreI know it'll still be a soc and won't take up any more space, didn't know that multi cores were more efficient/performance so thanks for that :-) But i didn't mean that the CPU would take away battery space i just meant I'd prefer a slightly thicker phone with a much beefier battery, seems phone makers have got it into their heads thinner is better, ok agreed i don't want a brick in my pocket but something about 12-15mm thick would be perfectly acceptable, and with all that extra volume in the body of the phone filled with battery i think it would be great.
This is just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

1080p screens and now 8 core cpus. Hilarious! There's a lot more than hardware to phones. Soon we'd be able to custom build our phones like we do our computers. Now wouldn't that be ridiculous. Simple case of more for the sake of more.

Venkat-India, 21 Nov 2012Why you are comparing iOS vs Android. It's something like ... moreYou got it wrong. iOS is Mac. Android is Linux. And Windows Phone is Windows. Windows will never be the counterpart of Android in the desktop world because Windows is closed-source and Android is open source, so the desktop counterpart of Android is Linux which it also got its kernel from, and Windows Phone 8's desktop counterpart is Windows 8 itself, both are based on Windwos NT. There is no smartphone counterpart for MS-DOS. iOS is to Mac.
