But we are talking about premium flagship and IMX386 not acceptable for Ultra-Wide knowing 6 Pro will be expensive phone and competing against other top end flagships, software can do so much but there are limitations and Google already reached the limit on old hardware, IMX386 is 1/2.9" so basically Pixel 6 Pro will see no improvement on Ultra-Wide, not to mention limitations of this old sensor, not capable of 4K60FPS, not capable of autofocus nor Macro mode via Ultra-Wide, meaning Pixel 6 Pro will have one of the worst Ultra-Wides compared to the competition. Yet you still say "software"...

Hey team Google why you are walking on the foot steps of apple and not giving your user a simple extended memory card option. Trust me it will boost your sales and gives you upper hand from competitors as there are to many people who loves to buy your phones but consider others because of restrictions in expanding memory. I am sure you smart people must understand it.

Just because the sensors aren't that recent doesn't mean they won't produce good results. Look at the image quality Google managed to squeeze out of the IMX 363, a 4-5 year old sensor that was lacking in both size and resolution by the time quad-bayer sensors became mainstream. It still remained competitive with Google's software behind it and the GN1/IMX 586, with how big they are along with them being quad-bayer sensors, they'll most likely churn out way better photos compared to prior Pixel phones. Same thing applies to the ultrawide even though it's nowhere near as big or high-resolution.

Everyone knows Google software is superb and does amazing things, but...
IMX386 is absurd in a top end premium flagship, no software will be able to upgrade outdated hardware and grant it capabilities like like 4K60FPS, autofocus, macro via Ultra-Wide, low noise levels and so on.

GN1 is almost two ... moreGive google a google a gm1 and you'll see great results, the GN1 is already a great sensor, most of the real progress that has been made in smartphone cameras is in software, these huge sensors with pixel bining tech are so overrated, take an iphone 11 for example.
My only concern is video quality, that's where google are still behind.

GN1 is almost two years old.
IMX386 for Ultra-Wide is super old and very poor sensor from 2016, which was mostly only by cheap phones.
IMX586 for telephoto is almost 4 years old.
Ultra-Wide and Telephoto not capable of 4K60FPS is insane, every other flagship is capable, we are talking about top end premium flagship not a 5a or 6a Pixel.

IMX386 for Ultra-Wide, a tiny old sensor from 2016, even selfie camera is the same size and actually newer sensor.
