It will combine the size of the 14 Pro Max with hardware of the vanilla iPhone 14.

Ok, this kinda makes sense given how people are obsessed with massive phones and not tiny ones.

New regular iPhone will take place of current iPhone Mini including price point. New iPhone Max will take place of current regular iPhone including price point. Pro and Pro Max will remain as they are now. I really didn't like how they hiked the price of regular iPhone 12 and 13 due to Mini.

Macaulay Culkin, 29 Sep 2021Glad I sold my 12 mini after I pre-ordered my Flip 3. I agr... moreGalaxy Flip is still too large, you can't operate it while it's folded so it won't matter. It's bigger than vanilla S20/S21 whn it's unfolded.

Meanwhile a folded Galaxy Fold is still too large, larger than 2020 SE even, which is already bigger than iPhone Mini.

I guess it's due to major countries (esp. US and UK, where majority of their users, studies and research samples coming from) has bigger average hands, which is why demands of such size is much smaller. https://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t245-which-country-has-the-largest-hands-in-the-world

Even all of GSMArena handheld photos i saw is larger than my hands. Gargantuan phones on their hands look like my hands when i hold a regular iPhone.

Not to mention bigger screens are easier to marketize, especially on lower end android phones, which almost every one of them are >70mm width phones.

I actually thought I would have a problem with the tall display and weight of my two flip phones but I've gotten used to it. Flip 3 is 166 mm in height when opened. The solution was to place the apps near the middle using Nova 7 and then putting a big weather widget on top on all pages. And it's narrow enough that my thumb reaching that middle part is no problem.

As for the weight, any thing over 220g will be an issue. I compared weights of the PSP phat vs. slim and Vita phat vs. slim. The phat models weighed over 270g. The slims were below 200 or 225. I preferred the slims. So I have no interest in the Fold and Duo series until they bring it down to under 200g. Can you believe a Switch Lite still weighs close to 300g? The Steam Deck will be even heavier.

I think my 2016 iPhone SE is great other than its battery life being trash but I don't plan on using it forever and ever. Some people must let go of that size and move onto something else. Evolve. Adapt. OGSE was even more comfortable to hold than the 12 mini too. But we can't hang onto it forever. Tech is about changes and adapting to them. That's life in general.

Glad I sold my 12 mini after I pre-ordered my Flip 3. I agree with Michael Fisher that the clamshell form factor will replace the mini slabs in the future. Yes, clamshells are taller, wider, thicker, and heavier. Not too wide but a little wider. But you will get used to it and flipping it open.

I have my Flip 3 next to my iPhone SE from 2016. Flip 3 is like 30 mm shorter when closed. Even though there are some trade-offs, the benefit with a much taller/bigger display is worth it. And split-screen is much better on taller displays. It's two perfect squares with one stacked on another.

Should be 6.2" and 6.8" instead of 6.1" and 6.7".

Anyways, it's sad the mini failed to sale. Guess people do like to have uncomfortable lifes and carrying around a huge tablet
