They also care about employee welfare really seriously. Fairphone isn't the kind of company that use overworked underpaid employees, unlike Foxconn. The word 'Fair' itself actually goes beyond the smartphone.

I also don't mind IPS LCD since it's more reliable than OLED. I hear very little or no complaint about the IPS LCD screens having a burn-in issue, unlike the OLED screens.

So purposely removed 3.5mm jack to sell their unsustainable disposable wireless earbuds??? So much for eco-friendliness.

So it is not for everybody. That strategy you can find on every corner especially the fload of cr app commin from the far east. This device is for people who think at others, at nature, at repairability. People who think behave and do it differently. For the mass their are enough "devices" so go there and complain about prices.

Fairphone but no 3.5mm jack??? But the least its battery is removable/easily accessible for replacement so thats a plus.

A truly „fair“ phone has a charger in the box and a 3,5 mm headphone jack.

Sorry but BIG no no. It's not fair to have this notch with all that space above and ain the bottom. Go in the Sony route instead of that and I'll consider it. After all, you'll look at the screen all day ...

600 euros for LCD and snapdragon 750?

Honestly this feels very insulting towards the persons they target to sell this.

Can I justify the phone at this price? My goodness I want to be able to. And I'm pretty sure I'd recommend it to at least some friends.

Honestly, weirdly, I might actually be more tempted by a model with a high-end SoC (or even a 778G like the A52s) with a legitimately flagship-level price. Then I might more easily get the durability out of it that it deserves, especially as the limiting factor of the battery could be addressed with an easy replacement - and that may be the real ethical advantage of getting a Fairphone over a used flagship, which will likely have its lifespan be battery-limited rather than spec-limited.

Might get one for my husband who's still on an Honor 9...

This is an amazing phone. It's one of the few android phones of 2021 that make the iPhone's notch look good
