AhmedSLL, 07 Oct 2021I'll give it to you here, like 6 of the games you ment... morePeople not realizing the potential. All the platforms can emulate older consoles like ps2 or early. Mobile is in the sweet spot in terms of power. For me I dont need to be in my room to play games.

I don't really think handheld consoles make sense in general
Good try Lenovo
But next time at least have the joy sticks in line
My main problem with this device design
It possibly sell well
Too me
They just don't any make sense when you still need too carry your Lenovo legion gaming smartphone with you as well
It's just unnecessary

At least it's full hd. I wish we can have 10" OLED screen. That would be perfect

IpsDisplay, 07 Oct 2021Bare in mind I've tried to make this easier for mysel... moreI'll give it to you here, like 6 of the games you mentioned are probably worth playing, but that's it, are you telling me that I need to buy a console to play a total of 6 or even 10 games, while I can buy a real console like the valve steam or a ps4 to play 10 times that number.

Chrisss, 05 Oct 2021Exactly! I mean if you're a PC gamer or a console game... moreMobile gaming consists of time restricted activities and microtransactions. There's no decent/popular game that needs a controller. People already have overpowered phones and all it takes is to add a controller

Android gaming will always be a huge joke. All these "gaming" phones and devices just to play shitty android games that flooded with microtransactions and paywalls? LMAO

Chrisss, 05 Oct 2021Exactly! I mean if you're a PC gamer or a console game... moreMobile gamers won't care for this, either. They would rather just buy a telescopic controller like the Backbone, Razer Kishi, iPega 9167, etc, and strap that to their already existing phone, than buy a seaparate device like this. This device is both a terrible Android phone alternative and a terrible alternative to the $399 base Steam Deck.
Even with the $399 Steam Deck's 64GB emmC storage, it is objectively a far better purchasing decision than this, because you can fit a lot of smaller PC games natively on the 64GB storage (including Valheim, a massive, infinitely generated open world precedural game, with only multiplayer, that's only 1GB in storage; or, No Man's Sky, which is only 10GB, despite being infinitely prodecural in size). Or you can play the same Android games, that you can play on this, via a Android emulator on Linux. You can also supposedly install your own NVME in the $399 version.
No matter how you look at it, it's a worse purchasing decision than the cheapest model of the Steam Deck. It's also a far more niche product than the Steam Deck. Deck is actually gaining a lot of mainstream traction; developers have dev kits for it, and are actually optimising their games for Deck.

AngryLithuanian, 04 Oct 2021GSMA's community is one of the most toxic one there is... moreExactly! I mean if you're a PC gamer or a console gamer and you don't like this you're clearly target demographic. There are a lot of people who like mobile games and this is clearly target towards them.

This is nice. I'm looking forward to this because it'll be nice to play games like CoD Mobile and Genshin impact and it's great for remote play on my playstation as well. Currently using a gamepad on my phone anyway so this looks like a nice upgrade.

top android games. nintendo ... moreLmao. Nintendo still alive and kicking despite all doomposting. And did you just mock Valve?
Lots of non gaming androids can handle most games and your top games are just ports of games from other platforms.
Windows 11 now has Android support as well to app can go take a hike.

Bulding on my previous comment.
Along with what other people say. Google has failed a lot in gaming. This whole thing in industry of influence of, you get what we give, and we know best, instead of what is best for customer, has really been dragging it back for decades. The best gaming phones are like the least of the designs I would come up with, to use one day I could make it (I had to fight off dieing for decades, and now am past the age of peak talent and with deterioration). My latest design is something you could even use a high end desktop x86 CPU in a mini phone (not useful, but means you can put in a much more powerful arm chipset. The design was meant for gaming and high end cinema quality video recording.
Plus, I know of some leading edge processing technology to replace arms, and increase performance over 10x+ per watt over traditional processors). Not this rubbish from flag ship phones, run by people who don't know what to do. But, you can do more than those gaming phoned, in something which looks normal, an executive could carry around without looking bad to others. The time of rapid developments in the mobile market is drawing to a close. 90% of the original equipment manufacturing brands could be gone within 10 years, even more, except the ease to be a small brand. This is the future, there will eventually be a few big king hit break through products, and not too much inbetween. Concentrating on reviewing content and apps, may substitute hardware content on websites.
Anyway, Google should have has a universal control interface, so that one code will work with touch/redefinable touch control, buttons, controllers, and any other method the user or the app developer wants to support, through a generic find and use API, find model API, and user nominated definable use. This allows code to work on phone or Android tv/Shield TV. The user redefinable controls, and sharable configurations, can already make this possible. You then have high speed gaming sandbox to close down everything un-needed (as done on game phones, but as standard support), with local game data backup off device (so you don't loose over 100 hours of progress because of issues). You then have complete isolation option policy, where the user can setup so games can't see the system or communicate over the internet unless you enable that, for legal privacy). BAN all in game purchaes. Then you concentrate on recruiting and selling games as pay once store local, console level games, without any of the looking at the system/user data and communicating (which slows down things) and promote use of better and best control method available on uses hardware when they start the game, or select better. Prime user experience quality is how the big console companies did it. Not tilting rubbish left and right. The user needs to be able to filter searches based on: free with no advertising or paid with no advertising, number of controls (more than tilting it along one account, with at least one action control) price and rating, no in app purchases, no data gathering. For a quality experience. The user then can go free or paid without advertising, in app purchases or data gathering, two or more axis of control, one or more action control, with rating 4-5, plus whatever else she wherever category, and get a quality result, where you can search through categories available to that filter, all alternative app recommendations shown are also filtered by this mechanism. Then the user can save this filter as a standard view, so each time the user comes back they see the last filter selected to be used as standard.
These are the sorts of things which would have made google gaming good. We were enthusiastic when phone gaming seem to be ready to take off in the 1990's and 2000's, but every time the mobile Industry has stuffed it up. Somebody here was saying that the Nokia gaming console phone was showing the future, and I was thinking of saying, "What, were they around before Taco Bell?!" Because the thing was so rediculous, and famous for looking like you are holding a taco shaped thing sideways out from your head. How the mobile Industry could ever think that was going to fly? They could have just put buttons on one end of a bar phone, and a little controller pad on the other end and made Game Boy Advance like games, and keep the the bar phone format.

eh depends on the SOC because if it's nothing special and a typical mobile chip like snapdragon then i could just buy attachable controllers and apply it to any current phone and do the same and more, so yeah meh, unless it's going the steam deck and switch direction having a real gaming worthy chip I'd be interested
