Samsung says that ray tracing is coming to mobile games with the Exynos 2200

04 October 2021
It's a photo-realistic but computationally expensive technique that is featured on PC graphics cards and current-gen consoles.

It may not be as immersive on a smartphone screen as it is on a desktop monitor, but the improvement would still be appreciated anyway. We are now getting closer to having modern games on PCs being brought to smartphones as well.

rizki1, 04 Oct 2021developer should bring PS3 or light pc games to smartphone,... moreBattlefield mobile, apex legends, pubg new state, warfare mobile are about to come.

But do you really need Ray tracing on Mobile games
Of course a feast to the eye but is it really needed
Evolution is necessary and we should move forward but this is pushing Abit too far at the wrong time I would say
Oems still need to improvise on their cpu with power efficiency and thermals and comes the more powerful gpu
You won't get more than 20fps on games with Ray tracing but sucking your battery real fast
Better improve on battery tech or efficiency and later go on to stuffs like these

Glass has no free electrons like metal thus Is a better insulator, not conductor.

Given the size of a phone and from this photo, it doesn't feel like it's worth it to have ray tracing if it requires extra processing powers.

While even inferior to DLSS 2, scaling will be much much more useful in a power-constrained device like a phone than RT

                      What a.... bullshit!

Yes, maybe the next Exynos 2200 supports Raytracing.
But: Raytracing on a smartphone is POINTLESS !!!
                      It is nothing but stupid!

If you want to have Raytracing on a Gaming PC you need to buy an nVidia RTX 3070, 3080 or 3090.
By now you will not find an RTX 3080 for less than 1200 Euro. The cheapest RTX 3070 is around 900 Euro (UVP = 550 Euro). An RTX 3080 and 3090 has a power consumption of about 300 Watt and more. Regarding AMD, by now AMD isn't able to compete with nVidia when it comes to Raytracing.
An AMD RX 6800, which costs around 1000 Euro by now (UVP around 500) has a hard time to reach 60 FPS in Full-HD with Raytracing!
And don't forget the cooling systems that such a graficscard has, that is at least 10x bigger than a Smartphone. Even an PS5 and XBox does have big cooling concepts and systems.

And now they announce Raytracing for Smartphones?
Think again, thats marketing bullshit and will never work in an acceptable manner.
Power consumption far too high, cooling systems far too big, etc. pp.
So there might be a small benefit from it like a it better shadows.
But great looking Raytracing in FullHD and more than at least 30 FPS - that will never ever work!

                        They can include it.
Doesn't mean it would be used in games...
