If you look at the current offering, many of the handsets currently on offer are just badge engineered versions of the same generic handset (aiming that at Oppo/Vivo/OnePlus and the others that the parent company owns)..

It's not crazy difference, but it's smaller, so that's not the reason

Pixel series has great future in India but cant understand why GOOGLE IS IGNORING INDIAN MARKET FROM LAST 3 YEARS , i believe google doesn't contact to Indian majority of people by physical platform like its own store or 3rd party store n lack of after sales issue. Never heard any google pixel service centre establish in Delhi , Mumbai or bangoluru like states in Indian Moreover tee team of google mobile technology department Indian seems quite weak cant analysis the potential of market in finace as well as sales with its networking areas into public sectors . lacking behind as compared to chines handset company established them into Indian market within 3 years n had collection above 1 billion sale sof products in phonephone sector market leaving behind Samsung n phones . Its nt late google has chance to focus on Indian market that will revolutionise in up coming yers with its technology in every sector

Cant compare.
Before the covid, google was able to sell almost 8 million devices.
Good number for a company that does not sell phones under $370.

It would be very exciting, if the Pixel 6 Pro let you use the astrophotography mode with the periscope camera. Or the full resolution 50 megapixel mode of the main camera + astrophotography mode.

See I can walk into any store that sells smartphones and get a Samsung, iPhone, Xiaomi or even Motorola on the spot, heck some stores even sell Sony phones.
But the Pixel I have to import, because Google only released them in a handful of countries, even worse is that I have to pay around 100 to 200 euro extra because of it, and I have technically no warranty for the phone in my own country.
So do the Pixels flop? No, but they could be more popular and sell many times better if Google wasn't a idiot.

I use the telephoto probably as much I use the main one.
But that's me, there are probably some people that use the ultrawide a lot, anyhow better to have ultrawide than another useless 2mpx macro or depth sensor.

Apple i... moreThe thing is, Apple chip is their selling point, having "the most powerful chip" on a phone, yet in truth no one needs it, no one ever even able to use all its power on a phone, not to mention if pushed it instantly throttles because of limitations on cooling a phone devices.
I am sure Qualcomm and Samsung could push more and have bigger scores, but we are already at top of thermals for phones, and what power is actually utilized on phones anyways, there should be focus on other aspect rather than just raw power end benchmark scores.
