Chinese speaker here. By the Weibo post they mean that Snapdragon 870 IS REPLACED (in the next generation) BY Snapdragon 888, IMX586 REPLACED BY IMX766, ColorOS 11 by ColorOS 12.

Moreover, OnePlus still is better at repairs as the parts are not with serial numbers to prevent third party repairs, also they offer free battery replacement, something that no other ever company will do, and Apple will even over-charge for it, so yes OnePlus phone are still going good :)

Did you guys only read the headline? It says down there that it's tipped to come with Android 12 so i think they made a mistake in the headline. However, I'm not sure about that Sony IMX586 sensor. That thing belongs in a museum by now. In any case, the OP that we once knew is long gone.

I think this is the first time in many years that a T version has been released with an old OS version. Guess it has something to do with the unification project they are working on.
