Weekly poll: what do you think of the changes and improvements brought by Android 12?

10 October 2021
The beta was the most downloaded beta in Android history - was that just bored geeks or are people genuinely excited by what Google has cooked up?

I am sure I will receive the Android 12 update but not sure whether I will like it or not.

Wait, where's the answer "I don't really care"?
The answer with "..as long as i get security updates" is not good either. I changed my phone because I couldn't install newer games because my google play couldn't update because my OS version was out of date because the phone was ~ 4 years old.

Afaik what Android brings, can be added in different UIs. Since you can not possibly change Android, you can more easily (possibly) change UI. The poll should be "Do I value Android more than different UIs"

I'm sticking with Android 9 because 10 introduced a bunch of restrictions in the name of security which broke functionality of apps I rely on.

I can't understand what this poll is about.
This looks more like, will I get Android 12 update in my phone? If not will I stay with my phone? Or buy a new phone? Will it be an iPhone?

Since everyone is getting HRR screens they should have atleast utilized that in AOS12. Apps dev will just turn on that hrr for their app if its supported of course.

Why is everything slowly turning to be like, "bubbly?" From the initial looks, it's a wannabe iOS. Please, please, don't. Can't stand all these curve these and curvy that. Even the Android widgets are slowly looking like the current lame iOS widgets on the homescreen. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2021That's called Oxygen OS :) cheers Yup that's before oxygen os 11

It ran fine on the devices i tried it on (usually flagships).
Now i get it they ran slow on lower-end devices. And they kinda still do run slow with OneUI aswell so it could be the hardware itself rather than the software.

NO SOFTWARE. especially the size of A WHOPPING OS can be bug free. ESPECIALLY When it has to work with so many platforms and configurations.
I would very much hope for a REDUCTION of high-impact bugs and medium impact bugs. And I don't mind having some bugs that can be used as easter eggs.

BUT A BUG FREE SOFTWARE? Not gonna happen. not because google won't do it. it's because it's impossible.

My question is why can't android have a native battery health app or feature like android. Knowing the health of your battery accurately is more important to me than themes with wallpaper you can get by installing a launcher

Im not excited at all.
Most of the stuff i sern before, as always Google collect stuff from different brands and release in a new Android.

The scrolling screenshot i had in my Huawei Mate 20X in 2018, finally Google open their small eyes and take it into their A12.

I never thought I'd see the day when stock android mutates into MIUI, and yet people criticise BBK for merging OOS and ColorOs, which involves changes which are subtle in comparison.

I've gone from wanting android updates to praying that I don't get them or that the OEM doesn't integrate too many of the changes Google has made. For me, OOS and RealmeUI provide a more stock-like appearance with useful features, compared to the new MIUI inspired offering from Google.

Im sticking with OneUI, i don't like the flat design over there either. I liked the Sam Experience UX (Android 7-8) way more.
And TouchWiz (Android 5-6) design is my favorite of the bunch.
And the features were already there on Samsung phones so i don't see anything new in this stock version.
