Use windows 10 now. Install windows 11 later.

I was happy With Windowx XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. So I am pretty much guaranteed to be happy with 11. No problem, I will wait two more months for 11 to be optimized before I upgrade.

3VA, 08 Oct 2021I’ve tried win 11 on my and pc. And yes this article is tru... moreTried it with my notebook (Intel) and PC (AMD)

But just to be sure I grabbed a empty disk for the PC, because I knew of the issues.

The notebook is totally fine, performance in games is the same and so is the startup speed and overall speed, it even feels more snappy.

AMD one... 2 minutes was the startup from a SATA ssd, and I have my Windows 10 on a SATA SSD and that takes around 30 seconds to start including my password, so yeah that is one issue.

The overall speed and framerate in games is mixed, some stuff is much slower, other is not but what is consistent are microstutters through the whole system, very annoying and strange.

I’ve tried win 11 on my and pc. And yes this article is true. Booting speed was significantly low. Opening an app took ages so do the games. So I reverted back to win 10 and now my pc is fast af. I’ll wait for them to release the stable version.

            still has many bugs.
Maybe i must wait until next year to install w11.

If that is the case just enable it on your motherboards bios.

I have tried my best to love Microsoft since Windows 8 came out but this is enough now. Their Microsoft Store still seems broken even after all these years. Most of the things are still a mess. I thought Windows 11 would fix a lot of issues but no, it brought more. To open my graphic settings, I need to right click on desktop and then click on show more options. The only option hidden there is my graphic setting option. This also completely changes UI of options. I am switching Apple, at least they are polished and have a nice and consistent UI.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2021It's funny how these bugs only happen to AMD CPUs and ... moreThat's because Windows updates here look like they are solely made for intel.
That was fine when amd didn't have much market share or when amd was trailing.
These are processors which are remarkably better than the competition offered by intel suddenly depreciating in performance.
And Intel's depreciation in performance in the recent past has always been due to security patches. And when you sell processors full of security holes, you have to take the blame. (Intel has security issues in hundreds, the rest of them including amd, arm and anyone else combined has less number of issues and intel was clearly aware of these flaws before they manufactured in bulk).

There's quite a lot of working games if you just flip on proton for all titles, and it improves every day, along with the quality of the overall software stack for multimedia and graphics.

This is why I don't rush installing the latest version of desktop OS. We've been there before with the early versions of Windows 10 with loads of unsettled bugs and unsupported drivers that make people still hanging on to 8.1 or 8 or even 7. It took until the v1607 Anniversary Update where everything went perfectly stable.

After all, there are customers who still use the older versions of Windows OS.

Did I ever regret it? No, not at all. If anything, I made a clean format of my current primary hard drive, which used to be running on Linux.
