Neither company has been shown to be connected to the Chinese military. Lots of people have bought Honor/Huawei phones in the West before the US ban. Huawei was once top phone vendor worldwide.
There is still no evidence Huawei is a security risk to any nation and Honor was banned due to its connection to Huawei. US just keeps making up lies about Huawei. The Huawei CFO is now back in China because the Canadian Judge presiding over the extradition proceedings wasn't going to order the extradition because she didn't believe any of their lies.

Honor band, Xiaomi band, Huawei band, Realme band, etc. They are the same products with the same software, the same user interface, etc.
To me this 1) completely devalues these brands 2) calls into question the idea that they compete against each for the customers' benefit 3) makes me wonder if these companies are really "privately owned".

Be aware that Huawei and honor don't allow you to unlock your bootloader for free
