I know everyone hates Facebook but as long as we use their services these kind of updates at least help to improve privacy and we gotta give credit for it as they are right: No other messenger offers this.

When I switched from Android to iOS I thought it would be a pain to transfer my conversations on Telegram, but was happily surprised to see that they carrier over right away. Also I can use Telegram on desktop without having my phone connected to the internet. Truly effortless

Lies.
Whatsapp has been "advertising" features like multi-device support, inter-platform transfer, and this e2e backup, yet hardly anybody actually get those features. These "rollouts" are either fake, or that's just for Facebook's own internal employees.
