Usb bolt, 17 Oct 2021I'm with Apple on this, how would a breakthrough port ... moreThe legislation requires everyone to have the same port, it doesn't stop a new port being rolled out to every phone at once when one comes along. The point of this legislation is to reduce the ewaste from having to buy lightning dongles and increasing consumer convenience. Standardisation has worked extremely well before and it will this time too.

It's not just Apple it's almost every camera brand that uses it's own connector on camera end just to connect to USB-A on the other end. Their excuse is the same: innovation.

Stiffle innovation :D Apple does not give a shit about innovation the only thing they care is profit from accessories in this case and yes it will hurt them, becasue they were the only ones charging arm and legs for their shitty lightning port stuff. Good riddance.

rRadD, 17 Oct 2021LOL. talking like a troll's lawyer, get lost too, kid.... moreBro please go read a electronics book or better yet research what is being talked about lightning connector is pretty out dated now even apple uses usb type c rather than lightning for their laptops it's not a apple hater thing rather than type c cables are safer cheaper and have support for a ton of third party adapters and accessories it's also a freedom of choice you can buy a c type cable from any established manufacturer be it cheap or expensive you generally have a guarantee of it working properly whereas you can only buy a expensive lightning cable for that guarantee but knowing apple they will find a way to make the c type cable expensive aswell

USB C cable $1-$3 good safe readily available, Apple lightning cable cost 100 more than that so off course apple say stifle innovation ( innovation on the bank account )
