The leak comes in the form of a couple of alleged screen protectors for the devices.

It's strange every brand have to make the same small/tall format, instead of making mixed like most other stuff in life 👍🏻

It's the right thing for you, but for me it's the right thing to have a dream display like my former old Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra 6.8 inch 16:9 format or my Huawei Mate 20X... We all are different with different needs you know? BTW I hated my former S21 ultra, skinny thing.

But rarely try to watch films on such a small screen, im not a gamer either, so why am I and millions of others forced to buy phones with wrong ratios for what we do with our phones, its just as daft as nobody making a decent spec small phone, at a sensible price

16:9 would be a dream, but that far they don't dare to go... But finally it looks like Samsung dare to go another way then Apple for example and stay independent, if this will happens... Well done then 👍🏻

                Good.
I loathe tall skinny screens, the old 4.3 does most things OK, if you want a screen to watch films on,buy something bigger with daft film ratio screen.
I've yet to see a tablet with a daft skinny screen, cos film ratio screens are rubbish for almost everything else, so why does every single phone have to be based on just one ratio when folk use them for different things, I read lots of. E. Books

There was never need for bezels, there is also no need in tablets. What you need is just turned off touch on the sides, we use case even if someone cases about such protection at sides.
Samsung just being leader, be it folding or whatever. Its a wonder that some devices sell at high price despite their old design.

Finally! The tall, thin, remote-inspired trend is facing an imminent demise.

Tio, 16 Oct 2021Everyone has different needs & opinion. So, your statem... moreSamsung seems to respond to it though. The 20:9 screens they got now did got lots of criticism for being too narrow

                        calculations:

new S22 is going to have 6.06" screen
it would mean ~6.3 cm wide screen
compared to iphone 13 with ~6,5 cm wide screen this seems not acceptable to Samsung.
Giving the 6,06" screen a19:9 screen would give ~6,6 cm wide screen.
This also gives the housing its rumoured height of only 14,6 cm.
To go with an iphone 12/13 size of housing is a very wise decision for samsung; giving the screen then a 20:9 ratio surely not! And they seem to notice.
It would render the S22 screen wide like explained only 6,3 cm wide. Not acceptable.

These things matter a lot ergonomically to everyone while most don't even have an idea about it, but Samsung the builder knows these Rules

THIS is what Apple should do, instead of releasing the thing over & over again.

Never was a fan of 20:9 screens or worse. Typing and viewing in landscape mode is awkward and the device itself just becomes to looongg.

18:9 is ideal. maybe 19:9 is fine if with bezeless housing

eagerly waiting for Note to come.
