Always ask in what function or program these performance gains are from. Also read between the lines. 70% more performance in the same power consumption can also mean it is actually slower compared to a laptop that is consuming more.

AnonF-1013367, 18 Oct 2021Can you explain more about drivers? I almost know nothing, ... morePretty Simple, Windows said it no longer supports M1 officially, so you have to run on other means like Crossover app and virtualization etc.,
So the only hope for Apple Highend gaming was Vulkan support.
But Apple is adamant that it won't support Vulakn API so all developers have to use Apple's metal API.
Apple enabling Vulkan support would have paved for official Linux support and you could posibly have run Windows games on Linux through DXVK bridge.
All is not lost though VoltenVK was made for this purpose.
To convert MetalAPI calls to Vulkan API.
So in the end , anything other than MacOS on M1 Macs will not be officially supported and will only come through unofficial or open source community or developer means.

ST, 18 Oct 2021The M1 was slower than a regular laptop 1050...so this mean... moreapple is focused more on video production apps that only run in mac os, which why their crap is always faster than windows laptops that need to focus on more than few things, where's apple never gives a damn about gaming performance at all cause their customers mostly buy them to brows social media or watch netflix/apple+ or whatever they're calling it.
