19 October 2021
The last 16" MacBook Pro used an Intel Core-i9 (9th gen). The last MacBook Pros to be announced before these was the M1-powered 13" model.

In my opinion, there should be an a series, m series, m series pro, and m series pro max. If apple should use multiple of various kinds of chips.

I'm at least glad that you're willing to engage in a thoughtful argument.

Making claims the M1 pro and Max are faster than their competitors while being more power efficient, claiming their laptops run as efficiently on the power brick as it does on the battery and claiming class leading battery life is not marketing. It's either fact or lies.

Maybe using something like Letters instead? Eg:

                  ~~7W: Apple A1, A2, A3, A4... ...
                  ~10W: Apple B1, B2, B3, B4... ...

                  ~95W: Apple F1, F2, F3, F4... ...

Or something like this (using Watts):
                  ~7W: Apple A7, B7, C7, D7... ... ...
                  ~10W: Apple A10, B10, C10, D10... ...
                  ~15W: Apple A15, B15, C15, D15... ...

                  ~45W: Apple A45, B45, C45, D45... ...
                  ~95W: Apple A95, B95, C95, D95... ...

Perhaps even like this Western/Marketing instead (using Monikers):
                  ~7W: Apple G1, G2, G3, G4... ...
                  ~10W: Apple T1, T2, T3, T4... ...
                  ~15W: Apple R1, R2, R3, R4... ...

                  ~95W: Apple Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4... ...

That will make consumers think that the m20 is better than the m19, when it's not.

M1, M1 pro, and M1 max(or M1 pro max preferrably) is good enough, since apple could use 10 M1 pro maxes in their mac pro, and would just use M1 chips for the iPad pro and a series chips for the Ipad air, mini, and regular iPad.

I have the feeling that windows fans start to admit that windows is only good for gaming. For everything else Mac can do better and way way faster for less money. Less money because as it seems the new macs will replace workstations worth of 10’s thousands of dollars. Even today the very base MacBook Air can perform faster than the much more expensive Surface laptop studio with i7 as I found out when compared my Air with my friend’s Studio. Mine is totally smooth when I edit 4k video, my friend’s studio struggles, very choppy, not a pleasant experience at all. But who knows in a few years Macs may be good for gaming too. In fact they are good already but not many games available for Macs. It’s not a hardware issue.

I wanna know is MacBook the best choice if I am pursuing engineering of my BTech 1st year

                                Really impressive chip.
                                I noted my satisfaction/dissatisfaction a whole year ago with the original Apple M1. I suggested that Apple should release a family of chipsets for their devices. It was mainly for being more competitive and having better product segmentation. This didn’t happen, and it looks like its only somewhat happening. Also they could update their “chipset-family” with the subsequent architectural improvements per generation. For instance;

                                Apple M10, ~7W, 4 large cores, 8cu GPU… for 9in tablet, ultra thin, fanless
                                Apple M11, ~10W, 8 large cores, 8cu GPU… for 11in laptop, ultra thin, fanless
                                Apple M13, ~15W, 8 large cores, 16cu GPU… for 14in laptop, thin, active cooled
                                Apple M15, ~25W, 8 large cores, 32cu GPU… for 17in laptop, thick, active cooled
                                Apple M17, ~45W, 16 large cores, 32cu GPU… for 29in iMac, thick, AC power
Apple M19, ~95W, 16 large cores, 64cu GPU…. for Mac Pro, desktop, strong cooling

…and after 1.5 years, they can move unto the next refined architecture/node (ex Apple M20, M21, M23, M25, M27, M29 etc etc, and repeat the cycle every 18 months). I’ll reiterate, this was the lineup that I had in mind, and I commented about this an entire year ago. Kinda bummed they didn’t start off as such, and possibly may not in the future.
