The last 16" MacBook Pro used an Intel Core-i9 (9th gen). The last MacBook Pros to be announced before these was the M1-powered 13" model.

      But to due backwards compatibility, Intel is most likely hopelessly stuck with X86.

      Though they may acquire other RISC-V firms like SiFive with their Financial muscle.

      They will convince everyone to stick to X86 with bribing then like they did in the past.

                  Intel/AMD will have to do something amazing to take the performance lead back from Apple. x86 seems like a legacy architecture now. Nvidia/AMD may lose the GPU race too.
