Sony teaser describes upcoming Xperia as a camera attached to a phone

It will have a physical shutter button and will apparently excel in taking photos and videos.

Sony really needs to amp up their marketing budget, this teaser didn't look that professional.

            the first phone with imx800 1' sensor camera phone with Android and 5g, the xperia alpha 1, huawei p50 pro don't count, not using Android and not 5g either

I'm not ... moreTo be honest though, a lot of daylight JPEG photos coming straight out of A7R3 look like they have been taken by a smartphone camera. No matter how large the sensor is, after all, 12MP is 12MP and it won't capture nice details that other cameras with a >20MP sensor do. It's definitely great for sports/wildlife photography which requires fast readout speed or extreme low light video recording, but for most people looking for a Sony's full-frame camera A7 series or A7R series is simply the better choice.

                  In a majority of cases, a 30MP or 60MP image downsampled to 12MP looks far more pleasing than a native 12MP even at a higher ISO level.

Just darken the shadows yourself if you like darker shadow rendition, not so hard, right?

It doesn't take a genius to realize the details completely fall apart in the darker areas of slightly high dynamic range scenarios. Y'know, the areas that Sony fanboys typically say are better suited for lower res sensors. Lmao.

                                Whatevr they have done,or going to do, they need to work on their camera software as well. If not it will be a another impressive hardware with avarage results. Just look at the result what google have done with their camera department.

                                        Jacksfr, 22 Oct 2021Go read some reviews you clearly have no clue!Reviews have indeed confirmed that what he is saying is true. Other flagships are a lot more ahead of the Xperia 1 III.

                                        Even pro photographers said they would rather use a pixel or iPhone for more reliability in their smartphones. They wouldn't touch a smartphone camera with a 10 foot pole for professional photography.
