Smartphone manufacturers are going rampant with doing what they like. I believe a standard be maintained like how the EU are making certain criterias to be necessary when shipping a box of smartphone. I want that law to expand globally.

Do you really care about Sony Charger? Even i really never use them. I can get 5€ 3rd party charger can charge faster than Sony have. 10€ price cut more valuable for me.

I hold Sony up above the mantle, in these matters, not like filthy Apple. Making money by supplying puffiness without charger but the price being the same and Aakash a £ 19 cleaning cloth.
As long as there are fans, this will continue, and that's what's hurts me

The true spirit of saving the planet from e-wastes is to give a charger free of charge if the customer asks for it and to log it to the phone via the IMEI no. That's the true spirit of this plan. It's not what Apple does i.e no change in the price of the product but supplies without the charger.
Worst part, I never expected Sony to copy the same.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2021And it probably takes a few good hours to charge the phone.... morexperia 5III, 4500mah, it takes some 4h from 0 to 90% when plugged in the usb. and some 2h the daily top-up to 90%. actually xperia has a deliberate slow charging when over 50%. when spending 8h at the office it really does not matter. of course, this is valid for my kind of phone use. for others it is most likely different.

pangolinpanda, 23 Oct 2021The true way to reduce electronic waste would always be to ... moreit will be profitable if they make super powerful phone after every 2 year instead of making it every 3 months another important thing is to make apps available for the phone for at least 3 years and it should be optimised for those set of phone for years i mean for example a game should be 60 fps on a phone for 3 years constant unlike now where the the frames drop to almost 50 fps after 1 year i have this effect on my s7 edge i used to get about 30 fps to 45 not it is barely 20 to 25

I have a small 3550mAh battery and a 18 watt charger, it takes 2 hours to charge from 5% to 100%
If I plug this to my USB 3.2 port it would take me 5 hours and 40 minutes.
Let's be serious, that is beyond stupid if you have a phone with even bigger battery, because USB ports provide a much lower amount of power than most, if all chargers out there nowdays that are/were bundled with a smartphone.
Not to mention you need to keep your PC on and on a notebook I need my USB ports for other stuff than silly smartphone charging.
It's fine you do your own thing, your choice but just remember how little sense it makes.

In Europe we don't give rats or bother about charger, when you can buy much better premium chargers than the rubbish manufacturers provide.
You poor and Asia all nagging about a cheap trash chargers. Lol.

The true way to reduce electronic waste would always be to make the hardware last longer be easier to fix, provide spare parts and software updates/mainline hardware. But this is currently not very profitable. However as long as they subtract the price I would rather be without the trash chargers, as well as trash earphones.
