Oppo's first foldable phone is allegedly launching next month

It should be an inward-folding design like the Galaxy Z Fold3.

Likey every foldable device it will be very costly and very fragile compared to classical bar phone with a good leather book case which can work as wallet.
And so like every foldable is for me DOA for reasons above this going to be same.
Market and people are really stupid to make something like foldable touchphones with very large and very fragile screens and hinge.
But i am last to care since i would never buy.
Know better options how to toss money out of window and rather would give to charity than support something which would and should never worked way companies thinking,.
Proper tablet and bar phone cost way less than folding devices and as always sticking to them is a way better idea than supporting this nonsense.
Just my honest opinion.

"The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, which is a strange move considering the timing - the successor to the 888 should be unveiled in December"

Maybe a weird choice, but it's not a big sensation.
If i remember right Samsung did the same with their first fold phone. Which really surprised me.

I think I am speaking for everyone when I *yawn*

Both foldable designs have their place, and both have a market. If the ZFold 3 were the same price as the ZFlip 3, it would be selling way more than it. It would probably be the highest selling smartphone if it were $999.

Now that's that i call a hybrid. A regular tablet and a huge screen phone. But i would never buy from oppo sadly. Prefer to buy from their other brand realme

A clamshell turns the phone into a twice as thick brick when folded and doesn't offer any advantages when folded, yet has all the disadvantages of a crease and fragile display. A proper folding phone unfolds to unveil a large display, in addition to being usable while folded.
