What sort of argument could you provide to omit the headphone jack on a 14 inch tablet? This is ridiculous. On a phone you could maybe, very forced but maybe, present the argument for portability and integrating things, and adding ingress protection... but on a gigantic 14'' tablet? There is no argument. There should me more than enough space for a jack and plenty of ports for that matter. I see this as a malicious move to force the sale of accessories and wireless buds. Scum.

Samsung is becoming like apple
They copied almost everything from apple
I remembered the ad for samsung they compared the screen of samsung galaxy s9 to an iphone x and they mocked apple for the notch in the screen and now they're planning to add a notch in their new tab s8 lineup
Samsung used to be good before but now its not worth buying nowadays there are so many cheap phones and tablets with good specs even ipad 9th gen is better than the other cheap android tablets

Wifi Tab S7+ starts at $849. The Tab S8 Ultra is just bigger with bigger battery.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2021Trying to hold this without touching the screen will be a mess.Thats what I thought too. Slim or non-bezels looks great but only works for TVs, monitors, or laptops. For a tablet larger than 8" where you need to hold with two hands, bezel is still much needed.
If Samsung wants to show off their tech, they can make it like previous S Edge phone series where they put only top and bottom bezels (or for tablets, maybe left and right bezels). Just don't use the curved screen.

At least unlike apple you can deactivate that stupid notch especially with an oled display. The question is why are they doing, my guess is it's just for sake exposure, to create controversy and make people talk about the device, and as we all know there is no such thing as "bad" exposure, exposure is always good. Otherwise I can't see any technical reason for this.
