Xiaomi really desperate to chase that no. 13 iPhone , i think all Xiaomi 11 user (i mean all user that buy this brand in 2021) just been abandoned.
Software update will be much more gap between the latest selling products.

You mean high screen-to-body can refer to display size? What size is Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro/Ultra that 6.81" or above screen size s very big gorilla hand one, Hehehe! Make Mi 12 Ultra screen something silk one like human sized 6.8" display size. Not like gorilla hand-style screen handset, Haha!

Agree. And u can put extra battery with the extra thickness despite being heavier but that would make ur grip better as light phones u can't get tight grip of it.

And normal dust have almost never been an issue for any phone, only conductive dust like workshop byproducts is dangerous and even IP6X rated phones can still get issues from those, through the earpiece for example.
Everything I said is still relevant.
In fact, there is a SINGLE and SIMPLE solution that would make ANY pop up easy to make IP68 rated, simply NOT having it opened to the inside of the phone, we can already make waterproof electric motor and pass-through wires, it is a no-brainer to have the part where the pop-up sit being actually OUTSIDE the phone, meaning even if you were to remove it, you'd only get a dead end, exactly like how the Samsung's S-pen don't need to be opened to the inside of the phone and is still as much water-resistant with or without it in its slot.
The same apply for slider phones like the Mi Mix 3, which is to have the slider part being OUTSIDE the phone rather than breaking the whole phone into two parts.
The phone would just have a dent on the top's back, like if you were to remove the flip up came from Zenfone, and a simple backplate with a camera sitting in the camera slot would simply be on rails on the back.
It would cost much less and except the slight added thickness of the sliding backplate it would be exactly like any normal smartphones, no drawbacks whatsoever.
A regular flat flexible cable or contact pins, like the pop-up I described just before, could allow to easily make it really cheap.
And you could even do smart things with this, like having the main camera actually in the dent, facing up, if you love the slider part once, you get the main camera reflected backward, and if you move it once more, then it gets reflected in the front, allowing to use the main camera for both the front and the back.

The MUCH better alternative being Disappearing Cameras, who is basically an internal pop up, fix all those issues and is both easy and cheap to make, while UDC have been through years of R&D and huge amount of money have been wasted on it.
People like me?
No, I am defending diversity, A.K.A, having everything being available, even if the niches ones would only have few or a single model with X or Y tech/design.
As long as the punch hole is a market invasive tech (meaning it is so everywhere there isn't the space for any other techs to come through), I'll criticize it, the day it will become rare, believe it or not, I'll defend it.
I do defend the Apple Notch, both for this reason, and because in the context of iPhone it makes senses, a notch or a punch hole in iOS is actually relevant, not in Android.
Will I criticize underdisplay camera?
Yes!
Even if it get near perfect?
Yes.
Why?
Because there are multiple much better alternatives that it won't ever reach the same quality, performances and privacy respect they have, yet it wants to be the ONLY AVAILABLE tech in the market, which is not an acceptable option.

I am done with Xiaomi, moving on to the Pixel 6 Pro. So sick of buggy software. Every update fixes something and breaks something else.
I wish Xiaomi stopped releasing a "new" model every week and focused on providing better support. But, I am done with that now :)

*Second, IP rating is overrated and many would happily take a phone with a pop up with no IP rating over one with a punch hole and an IP rating.
*Third, the Poco F2 Pro/K30 Pro is IP53 rated, which is actually more than enough for real life than IP67/68.
*Fourth, the darn Galaxy Fold3 is IP68 rated while the WHOLE PHONE split in half, the pop up is just a bigger opening than the sim tray that all IP68 rated phones already have.
*Fifth, it is because not knowing what they talk about exactly like you did, and many fearmongers constantly bringing up issues that almost never happened that the pop up died.

Oppo would have stayed a poorly known brand without the HIGH END Oppo Find X and its pop up.
The OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro are still extremely notorious.
The Vivo Nex 3 series has NOTHING to do with mid-range, nor did most of the Oppo like the Reno 10x Zoom.
The reason is simply because OEMs don't care about diversity and they all copy each others and can ONLY deliver a SINGLE base design.

The pop up allow fulldisplay AND privacy, the bezel doesn't.
There ISN'T a "perfect to replace them all" solution, exactly the same way there isn't a perfect car size, someone with a big family won't care about your compact and a single person won't need or want your big family wagon.
None a made to replace any other EXCEPT in the case of giving the EXACT same result, like underdisplay camera vs disappearing camera, which for the end user give the same result even though disappearing camera do everything better.
