All android flagships next year are going to have very slim bezels and feature a small punch-hole cut out, but no one owns that design it's what they think their customers want, and that's what they'll go with. These low midrangers are ok at fulfilling some basic requirements, plus one extra nicety.
The Redmi Note Pro series offered a somewhat better camera. The X3 Pro had a better chipset and storage, but went back to the 48MP camera that is in use since the Redmi Note 7. You can have all the good traits, like an 8-series Snapdragon, UFS 3 storage and the 108MP cam, but that is no longer a lower midranger. That's flagship territory.

Dimensity 920, 120hz AMOLED display and 120w are highlights of this phone. Not the processor alone.

And secondly there have been a lot of flat edged phones b4 and even compact phones with flagship socs b4 the 12 mini, so in a similar way we could also say that apple copied others.
But yeah while the s/w design/look might have been copied from ios seeing how the chinese prefer it I guess, it also allows much more flexibilty and options that ios could only dream of
