The only reason Android Tablet can sell despite a good iPad is just cheaper.
It's because it have telephony support, whatssap support.
Otherwise, many Agents and Sales Person prefer to use iPad.
Unless the Android Tablet is All in One, up to 512gb or 1Tb.
Confirmed good sales, WiFi model simply useless.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2021Finally Goog!e understands that tablets and not phones are ... moreYou sound like a whacky fanboy of a pie in the sky idea in your head. And I see more than one comment using similar language about fragmentation and micro screens, so seems like you're writing, for some reason, multiple comments about your ideological idea of how it should work.
It's not that Google chose smalls screens, market simply prefered it, it's just capitalism doing its thing. And how frickin ridiculous basing your views on what's in sci-fi films lol. It's fiction for a reason, most things are unrealistic, just made to look good. Like, are we also should be doing interstellar traveling because it's in sci-fi? No. And phone sized screens will dominate for a long time, probably until something completely different like straight connection to the brain, not even remotely near future. Tablets are uncomfortable to type on and foldable screens crease ruin the quality of the surface. It's literally worst if both worlds. So no, tablets will not become main device. Phones are better for everywhere device. Forget your ridiculous little vision mate, it makes no sense.

This is some amazing news, I cannot wait for a proper DeX mode baked in to base Android L, and pushing for more powerful productivity applications. Add in proper keyboard and mouse support, it will become the full-fledged Laptop alternative to other people. Like what the iPad should be, before Apple decided to halt on for its ecosystem.

LG Superfan, 28 Oct 2021This a step in the right direction, Android tablets need a ... moreThose can definitely be possible, but imagine that + overhauled and better mouse + keyboard support, i that were the case, it would be an amazing OS for laptop alternatives for semi-casual users. The app dev will definitely be dependent on third parties, but a DeX mode + better mouse and keyboard support + better optimized, more powerful apps = bliss.

This a step in the right direction, Android tablets need a complete overhaul and a native DeX mode like feature
Hopefully Google can make tablets use full dektop version of productivity apps like Mucrosoft Office apps and Adobe apps

Akinaro, 28 Oct 2021You hear that? I hear Honeycomb defragmentation going again xD That's good, the more fragmented (and bad) the phone market is , the more people would love to go away from that terrible platform (into foldables hopefully).
Once I first used a tablet I never understood how people could go back to the subpar screen experience of phones. Years of google propaganda turned them into drones using micro devices that will make fun off for decades and decades (like we currently make fun of the micro tv sets).
So , yeah, let us fragment that d*mn market, it has no place to be circa 2020s... Next step is for vanilla android to diemoff and be replaced by the L version all the way. Micro screens are such an inconvenience. They lived for long enough already. Kill them and eventually replace them with foldables and AR of some kind...

Finally Goog!e understands that tablets and not phones are the future? Color me surprised. It only took them 10 years. One of the principle factors of the underwhelming "progress" we were getting on tablets lately.
Given how stupidly small the phone screens are they were forced to accept that tablets is the future (ones that hopefully can be pocketable via folding). Let's ignore that pretty much all sci Fi showed people holding tablets instead of micro tablets (phones). No, google had their own idea and held the world stunted for 10 years by supporting the ridiculous screen size of 8 inches or smaller.
Finally they get it. Honeycomb was supposed to be the future, instead we got Ice Cream Sandwich, bleh ... a dark timeline. Here's hoping that Android 12L kills and readies a world off the future that (hopefully) will look nothing like the '10s and its antiques (tiny screens everywhere)...

Since I think foldables are the next big thing this is a good thing. Let's hope google understands that watches and tablets are important too. So sad they abandoned Tablets after Honeycomb.
