Sony smartphone division's revenue is up 25% YoY for Q2 2021

In Sony's earnings report, the company shows significant improvement in its Mobile Communications division and the company's overall revenue is up 12.5% YoY.

The number 1 downside of Sony phones at the moment is the price and that one problem with the power button fingerprint scanner. Aside from those I'd say they're ok.

      Good to always see any company doing well, especially in this day and age where things/trends can change so quickly.

          I'd rather buy a SOny with all those features than waste money on Samsung or Crapple.

I myself still have my old, yet fully working and still functioning, Sony Xperia XZ that has never undergone any repair. But contrast, my current Xiaomi phone has undergone three repairs mainly because of the battery and screen. I'm going to save up enough money to buy a brand new Sony phone and leave Xiaomi for good.

                            "Low numbers" can only be said when you're comparing it to something else as they're making a profit from "low numbers"
                            Heck if they only sold 50 phones and it turned a profit the profit is the only thing that matters (I'm assuming I'm not business a expert)

                                  Amazing how they grew in sales despite deficiency related world overall market drop, marketing to release mistakes, and ditching the internet providers sans japan, and some markets...

                                  Seems their niche market and hard to come by strategy is paying off.

                                      Good to hear that. Sony was and is successful in every field they stepped into, except this mobile division and laptops (Steve Jobs was a big fan of the Sony VAIO laptop lineup and even requested Sony to run macOS instead of Windows on their machines, which they denied). I use their cameras and speakers and other small things, and they scream 'I am from Japan!'. Come back, Sony!
