Not only Xiaomi sells more in Budget and mid range category, it also sells more in flagship category. The Mi 11 Ultra is also recommended by experts more often compared to Xperia 1 III which gets a big No from these guys for its inability to match the best

More people bought Mi flagships like mi 11 Ultra over Xperia 1 III. So Sony not only loses in budget categories but also gets embarrassed in sale of their flagships.

Xiaomi is no.2 is Europe, didn't you see latest stats for q3 in Europe?? It's at 23% marketshare while Sony is below 0.5% and never even made the list. They clubbed it in "other" category....lol 😂

Meh.. what do you expect from Xiaomi fans? They have no clue what quality is. They had a "close enough" experience with one model and suddenly they think all Xiaomi phones are good.
In reality we all know that nobody would actually choose a china brand before Samsung, Sony or Apple. They do it because they actually can't afford one, so they go for the replica brands which are cheaper.
And now, based on what they could afford, they argue that the phone they have bought is the best because it's cheaper..
One word: Pathetic!
By analogy, it's like buying a Hyundai and saying it's the best car in the world, just because you could never afford to buy a Bentley or a Mercedes or a Rolls-Royce.

I'm going to look at the reviews but considering this to replace my S21 Ultra. I use it for work instead of our cameras now to take photos of houses. I can't remember the last time I used one of our Canon cameras.

As a camera phone the Mi 11 Ultra makes more sense, you have more sensor that is actually in use when taking photos. And therefore a shallower depth of field.
From a video perspective it's as capable as any other 888 chipset out there. I know Sony have their own technology, but software doesn't necessarily justify this price tag.
I feel that the price is too high and Sony did this with the Pro, that was also released with a year old chipset too add to the pain of the price tag.
