AirY, 29 Oct 2021Im also from india but im not intrested in this, cz i want ... moreLol. if you able to access gsmarena and post the comments here...then this phone is definitely not targeted for you.

It's aim is to bring the basic mobile users to Google services and then bring new subscribers under Jio 4g. As Jio only provides 4g services. there by anyone who buys this phone is new addition to Jio and Google.

I think they made a commendable phone to capture this target segment.

Nokia C01 Plus is at Rs 6199.

Well said. Chinese companies were successful in India because they provided excellent specs for cut theoat prices in the initial days. Even at their homeland they use this strategy in the beginning.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2021That won't happen because this phone is far, far under... moreThe cheapest Nokia phone that is deliverable is C01 plus which is 3x more expensive than this phone, so there's no comparison. The cheapest phone that is not deliverable (at least in my region IDK about others) is Nokia 1 which is more than 2x as expensive with 8GB storage and 2100mAh battery. This phone has 32GB storage and 3500mAh battery.

AnonD-1001048, 29 Oct 2021Trust me, this phone won't be a success in India.I'm from India. I really want it to be a success. Android smartphones at these prices are non-existent here and the only competitors happen to be a couple of Samsung phones, the Poco C3, iTel's Android Go phones (which aren't very competitive anyway) and the Realme C11 2021: All of them have some issues or the other in terms of UI alone, ignoring everything else. Google's involvement might give them an edge here, but the Snapdragon 215 is hardly reassuring unfortunately.

At the price of Rs.7000 - Jio-Phone next has very poor features as compared to other phones available in the market around this price range (even 1K extra will give you a much better Micromax option), I don't understand Jio's financing option - Rs.2000(downpayment) + Rs.450/month (x 24 months) = Rs.12800/- Total amount (along with recharge pack), now neglecting inbuilt recharge pack along with monthly EMI, Customer will end up paying Rs.10,400/- which I feel is a huge amount for a phone with this simple features....like JIO phone 2 this phone will also be a flop, so stop marketing Nationalism, make at least a decent phone...

Wtf? 2k rupees? How is that even possible
