In my country, almost all Xiaomi buyers that want flagship power either go for Mi T or Poco Pro models only. It's very rare to see the more premium models lying around. Even finding one brand new is not easy.

That is a very pathetic and strange decision by Xiaomi since there is huge demand for this phone and even I was waiting for new stock of this one since 6 months now, if the people love this phone so much I don't understand why the company would decide to not sell it anymore.

No, not even a chance! At the moment, I'm running my Mi 9T Pro on custom ROM with AOSP UI. Considering it's age, I'm now eyeing at the Sony as my top choice though I'm not looking at the new Mk3 models because of Snapdragon 888 chipset.

The actual reason was because it was being sold at a loss... Convert it's launch price in yuan to INR, that'd be 73k, which is not counting taxes and import duties, yet it was sold at 69999. I'd estimate that they were losing around 7-8 k INR on every mi11 ultra sold in India. No one wants to keep doing that. Plus very few people in India would pay 70k for a Xiaomi phone in first place

John, 30 Oct 2021For $999, I would spend it on either a Samsung Galaxy S21+ ... moreNo. The mi 11 ultra destroys the experia in cam and beats the s21 ultra in cam too. Perfomance wise the sd 888 is faster than exynos. While the display is the brightest while the experia doesn't have LTPO screen. On top of that it's the fastest to charge.

John, 30 Oct 2021I'm not really surprised with this tbh. When it comes ... moreSony? I didn't find anyone using the latest Sony flagship at my place, the last one was only the xz3. S21U and iPhone 12 pro max are scattered here.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2021why? xiaomi is rich as hell and they can sell that shit ... moreFor $999, I would spend it on either a Samsung Galaxy S21+ or a Sony Xperia 5 Mk3. The former has Samsung DeX capability while the latter has headphone jack and microSD card support, not forgetting that both phones has HDMI ALT video output support (which is super useful for wired screen mirroring). The Mi 11 Ultra has none of those. It's only saving grace is the camera, and that's it.

I'm not really surprised with this tbh. When it comes to Xiaomi, people only care about value for money. So when Xiaomi made premium flagships like this model, it's not going to be an easy sell. Even in my country, only 50 units sold nationwide. I see more Sony Xperia flagship models being sold than that.

[deleted post]Why would someone buy a hyperinflated priced phone when they can get such tech at nearly half of the price? Having a bright shiny costly dress wont make sense if u ahve same comfort in a budgeted good luking dress. ..

Well they never intend to sell it here. .also the price was not competetive. Xiaomi was know to be the flagship killer. If they had put the prices aggresively around 50k INR . it could have dethroned any brand. But xiaomi seems to be now focussing on lower end phones and giving on cold shoulder in such premium segment. .Mi10 ultra not launch and so was case with other premium launches. .Disheartning that other companies trying to push at higher price and Xiaomi dont want to compete with them atleast in Indian Market.

AnonD-994853, 30 Oct 2021Xiaomi phones in China, India, and my country (Indonesia) a... moreThis is not really accurate for China at least. Take the mi11 ultra as an example. It is more expensive than flagships from Oppo (find x3 pro) and Oneplus (9pro) and launch price was also more expensive than the Vivo x70pro+. It has a better zoom camera than the first two and better lowlight photos but apart from that the specs are almost the same. Where I live in China Xiaomi is competitively priced but there are are other brands providing similar specs for similar prices in ever price category. Brands new to the Chinese market like Realme are even undercutting Redmi in prices as they are less established and so need to be even more aggressive in pricing
