Anonymous, 31 Oct 2021Lol cl0wns in this site always recommending a Xiaomi. Like ... moreYou're talking like iOS is this pinnacle of technology. It's actually in my opinion a trash OS that only allows you to do what Apple wants you to do. Stop with this cult of personality.

Makes sense, the market in general does not see Android phones as valuable devices, probably due to them being poorly built and filled with adware, they are not viewed as premium and therefore lose value much quicker. 🙂
Apple are seen as pretty much the only premium smartphone manufacturer and therefore the market is willing to pay more for them.

This analysis is rubbish, and I'm being generous.
          What it actually means is:
          (a) Apple/Samsung brands do not upgrade their phones often, that's why older phones are still desirable.
          (b) More users prefer refurbished phones of these brands cause it's cheaper than new ones.

If the data is provided for how often do you get broken phones for each brand considering their manufacture date, then we can tell if the phone of that brand are durable.
Even this would be a generalization, as it depends on the assembly, QC.

This article focuses on the 12 month depreciation and then goes on to mention that Oneplus is 3rd, while Google is better in that regard

The five year software support scam has been exposed.
But people trapped inside the ios cult simply have no clue that android already has things that will never arrive on their iPhones, even in the last year of their five year support program.

Apple being the exception, they are still done by a 3rd party but Apple has to approve the proces and parts.

So in the end it depends where you live.

At its going rate, the $600 Pixel 6 will only be sold for $200 within 12 months. Shows that none of these phones are really worth it until a year has passed. The Fold series still sells pretty high because it was sold intially very high. We'll soon have $2000 with no charger or cables in the box. Then we wait 2 years to get them for $500.

I sold my Samsung phone to a company and the price was terrible (but I had to because of the trade in promo Samsung often offers). As I know Apple doesn’t do this, preferred selling my outgoing iPhone via Marketplace and got a reasonably high value, even if the phone had a few problems. Only Chinese phones don’t hold their value well, as I learnt the lesson with one. Never bought another after that
