They are a threat because you dont use your brain. Huawei devices could be used outside the US to access embassy or military zones and spy with their cameras (actually, any cellphone can do this, but the CCP is the main danger right now in the world).
Also, nothing was stopping Huawei devices from getting inside the US through DHL/Fedex, etc.

[deleted post]This is different though. These are banned from operating within China. There is no interference with the operation of these companies you mention abroad. Huawei is different as they are not just banned from doing business in America. The restrictions are aimed at bringing the whole company down as they are trying to stop all global companies who use any US tech from supplying Huawei for any of its business, not just its networks. I can a little see the point in terms of 5g networks as all countries want to control the flow of information, but how could Huawei manufacturing and selling phones in China or other non-US companies be a threat. It's purely a move to try to take down the company. Otherwise they would just ban them from operating in the US.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2021Google and Facebook did not want to comply with China'... moreExactly. They were not banned. They were given a choice to follow the rules of the country or not and decided not to as is their right. But it is also the right of countries to set their own rules

For long time i just think of US as Director in terms of tech companies , the development run by various country including China, Japan, etc. Then monopolize it by saying 'you copycat' or 'you spy'. Just like 5G history on wikipedia page, you hardly see US development more than 5% on 5G but well ... i guess it's US tech after all? :))

and there is a difference between a tyrannical dictatorship gathering the info of all people around the world vs a bunch of greedy corps (that ironically have more power than the us executive branch) that sell people's data

[deleted post]Stop shifting the goal posts. US spies but no evidence that Huawei does irrespective of whether there is open media in China. When will the US pardon Snowden?

                    Stop buying Xi+tler products.

At this point huawei needs to leave the phone market
then focus on LoT devices or other stuff or do something for USA to unban huawei form this. But sadly the latter might not happen.
