        It was the self funded (by CCP of course) for me.
        But you've got to give it to the Chinese. Smartphones would have been at least 5 years behind if not for government backing their industries (Huawei in particular) thereby pushing the Korean and US competitors to do better.

          You guys should watch MrWhosTheBoss's video. Products are in development long before release. Most of Honor's recent products were already in development long before being sold. How much Honor and Huawei continued to share may not show up until next generation or the one after.

                  I haven't use Honor or Huawei phone since.

                  Using Realme now but would move to Samsung Note if AMD GPU is great

All honor products (pre Google ban) are Huawei products but with honor name slapped on. Same specs. Same aftersupport but I don't understand why a honor laptop is £50 cheaper in UK compared to Huawei . Am I paying £50, more because Huawei Is a well recognised global brand
