Anyway, this is typical for LG, I highly doubt things will improve with the Optimus 4X or G.
As a former 2X owner myself I'm wondering if this update will finally fix what was probably one of the most buggy and laggy phones outside of a Symbian device (because the gingerbread update did nothing to cure it)

LG should have skipped 4.0 and better worked on 4.1. Anyway good luck for LG owners.

You guys optimus 2x should be happy. My atrix 4g still gingerbread!! Same nvidia tegra 2, and motorola owned by google but failed to even upgrade only to ics after promosing so many months! This thing which makes me reconsider to buy another android. It seems android phone set only for 1years only and it will be outdated phone. Stupid google. As far as price and fiture to price, i prefer android than ios, but ios is set for using more than 2 years usable. Look at my iphone 4, after 2 years using it, still can be update to ios 6. Google must learn about this! *unsatisfied android user which use iphone as well

If he says that LG is more than friendly to give out the source code as soon as it is ready , I belive him . Also , as much as i could understand , it is not LG's fault for the long wait for it , but nVidia's . Plus - today the firmware was seeded , and a couple of hours later the source code was out too . Don't blame LG , blame nVidia ... google how friendly they are about doing anything about releasing driver source code for their chips for Linux . Some people look silly when they ditch LG. I know they are some of the worst while releasing updates but really those people who said the update is here 1 and a half or even 2 years later should get a life. ICS is just a year old. No need for drama.
Btw: Android 4.2 has been released but just the Nexus devices have it right now. It seems like we are a couple of months away to see that update on other devices, so who gives?
