[deleted post]His face is lobster red due to frame stacking and tone mapping. There is ghosting on thin stuff in the background such as branches also due to frame stacking in order to pull out the sky highlights. Video is over sharpened across the whole frame which means even the physical lens blur is sharpened.

Sony made profits this year, Sony will live forever...

The smartphone that fully deserves the 'Pro' moniker. Sure that its steep price tag would turn off most people, but it's definitely hard to find any current flagship smartphone with this level of hardware features.

Sony, please ask your paid marketeer to tone down. It is so obvious. He is not doing a good job anyway.

"Just an obligation because larger camera" not a case with Sony - as usual, good hardware, piece of shit software, making it hard to keep up with real players like Sammy and Apple. I'm saying this as Xperia 5.2 owner.

Another flop device if Sony's target market is just the photography enthusiasts. With so much money, they seem at a loss how to "capture" the hearts of the people.

Looking at the photo samples given in OP9P long-term review on GSMArena, I no longer agree with this sentiment. And I said before, "Product X must be good because it's made by the same people working for Product Y" sort of mindset really numbs your critical thinking skill, so I suggest you stop thinking that way - in fact, despite having those alpha people in the development team, lens quality still seems to be wildly inconsistent as evidenced by Xperia 1 II/III.

I know this is not a mainstream device but surely will be fun to watch the likes of the Huaweis and Apples try to aim for the precision this one will get with pic and videos.

The dude in the video is making a lot of excuse about the low megapixel count, simultaneously covering the fact that only 60% of the total sensor area is utilised for shooting stills, but in the end no serious photographer will even think about using this phone as their main camera.
24mm equiv. lens is not great for an action shot because the distortion towards the edges become extreme and it gets hard for one to compose an object in motion correctly. It is a FOV mainly used for landscape, but with only 12MP resolution there's only so much details you can fit into the frame before they turn into an incomprehensible mess of mosaic. Low resolution also makes it hard to crop the photo afterwards for re-composition. The other two cameras have a tiny sensor and they are not useful, and at this point the use case for this camera is severely limited for any type of photographers.

My second hand Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra gives me surprisingly good quality for a phone with Google Camera in 48MP. Compared to my main camera Fuji XT-4 and several lenses I bought, focusing speed is nowhere near as good, the lens sharpness drops rather steeply towards the left corners, but applying 1.1x crop in post usually gets rid of softness while still giving me a plenty of pixels to manipulate. Even then, I never use my Xiaomi phone for work, only for non serious landscape shots when I don't have XT-4 with me. Professional photographers like us want no compromise when we are paid to do our jobs. Whether it is from Xiaomi or Sony or Hasselblad, I do not care, we will not use phone cameras strictly outside of personal use.

I saw samples from this Xperia on this website and a few others. They feel like regular smartphone shots to me. They are lacking details, definitely not natural as some people here are claiming to be(oversharpened), and looking a tiny bit better than iPhone is not an accomplishment, guys. These shots are not even comparable to what my Xiaomi can achieve, let alone any type 1 sensor on a dedicated camera. Good luck selling this thing to pro users.
