Some Google Pixel phones are randomly calling people on their contact list

07 November 2021
The weird bug is seemingly related to the Google Assistant misbehaving and is mostly happening on Pixel 6 phones.

Just came to comment that my Pixel 7a just did this last night, first to my wife and then to my mother-in-law. Only had this phone for a few months and can't wait to get rid of it!

Never understand why people buy flagships with new features that never work and often are never fixed. I bought the pixel 4a from someone that had it for two weeks and was given another phone. Bargain for me and it does anything I want. If I want to play a game then I have a full on PC and a console. These flagships are for kids, or people who live out of a small single room.

I've just switched to an iPhone after years on Android.
I have had an ongoing and random bug with Maps since the very first release of 11 on several devices. Every few days it will fail to lock on to GPS and simply jump every 30 seconds or so along the route - this is on OnePlus, Sony and ASUS phones so its definitely Google's fault. Occasionally they fix it, it lasted nearly 2 weeks once, but then they break it again.
To conclude, I'm entirely unsurprised to find out that there are multiple issues with the new Pixel phones - it's par for course.

Glad I didnt jump into the hype.... I expected this issues since its fabbed by scamsung based on their crappynos. Hope google ditch them & have TSMC fab their SoCs instead even fund them to expand their fabbing plant to another country.

Had this issue on my 3a. Ironically enough I had disabled all Assistant features until I installed 12, when I decided to give it a shot. Not only did the battery consumption drastically increase, it started doing phantom commands by itself. I came across the reddit threads and just disabled everything again. Probably an hour of my life wasted enabling all the bare essential privacy settings for Assistant, and disabling them again...
