AnonD-43357, 10 Dec 2012i think they are going to copy samsung's strategy 1 to 1. t... more"Shooting star" is a star which is rapidly falling (crashing) into the earths atmosphere. You are right in that regard, they are crashing and burning.
Unlike Samsung, Sony does not have a coherent strategy for their high-ends. It's easy to say the Galaxy S3/Note2 are the Samsung "precious ones" (they will get all the support, attention and updates).
What about Sony? They have just dropped last years high-end (Arc S), this years high-end (Xperia S) has already been replaced once by another (Xperia T -- aka "the Bond phone").
If that wasn't enough to prove they don't have a strategy (FFS they just replaced the high-end phone the very same year it has launched), let's not forget there are a lot of other phones gravitating around their supposed high-end, pretty much taking it's place, phones like Xperia TX, V, and all other variants, but there is also slated a new successor very soon (at the start of next year).
So yeah. They are falling (they are only competitive in low to mid ends, where support isn't really great by any manufacturer).
When it comes to the better phones, they are appalling. They are loose-headed, no direction, no clue. Just flooding the market hoping to cash-in on brand name and looks rather than providing a real product that withstands the test of time (no lasting support for their high-end smartphones. Really? That's their strategy!?).
Arc S did it for me, no more Sony in whatever disguise they may bring.

i think it will work out. sony will be the shoting star of 2013 and get back a lot of the market.

Its just an overclocked Miro with a much worse cam, should have been much cheaper. This one belongs at the price point of Tipo.

It's ridiculous that they are releasing so many different devices, P, U, S, J, Ion, Tipo, Acro s, V, E, E Dual etc. Why not trying to make 3-4 really good devices instead?
