Rosso, 18 Nov 2021This technology is great and all, and companies like Xiaomi... moreno genuine benefit? bruh you will literally spend less time charging your phone

And what degrade battery is heat, maybe you have AC, or cold tiles which reduce heat from your battery when you charge, 5W can degrade battery more than 100W it depend with condition, thats why some wireless charger come with fan to reduce heat.

But at same condition, same temperature, faster charger will degrade battery more than slow one.

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2021How do you measure the battery capacity? AccuBattery?Accubattery if your phone dont have built in tool to check battery health. Phone like oneplus or Sony has built in tool just go to setting then about/system you will find some menu to show battery health.

yeah and battery would get hot as hell with 150 watt fast charging. mine is 55w fast charging iand it gets pretty warm, imagine with 150w.

Yes, fast charge is good. As power increase, it will be less apparent. So, 65W is more efficient than 120W++.
I think above 100 W is literally a joke, trynna kill your mobile.
Even Laptops are using just 125W ( Super Power Hungry Gaming Laptops ).
They are just putting out numbers instead of caring for efficiency. You know 120W won't stay 120W ( actually wayy less)all the way, so that's one thing.

Asimali700, 18 Nov 2021I hope car manufacturers can adopt this technology They have been for a while now.

Now you can boil eggs while charging.

Ah yes, the "professionals" are back to tell us how a battery will not last with 120w-150w charging. Yet over the last 12-18 months they have been proven wrong time and time again.

I'll take 150w charging please. 120w charging has degraded my battery by only 200mah over 12 months with over 1200+ cycles and 2,000,000mah's+ charged. That's no worse than my previous phones with 55w charging, 20w charging, 15w charging, 10w charging and 5w charging. In fact, the worst I had for degrading was my iPhone 5s all those years ago. Within a few months I had lost over 10% of it's original capacity.

Technology has really moved on, time to wake up guys.

Don't believe me? Buy yourself a USB metering tool, you can record the amount of voltage, current and mah's being passed through. Take monthly measurements and also use Accubattery. It's not hard, stop being a sheep.

Hemedans, 18 Nov 2021We are talking about 120W and 150W charger though. And ... moreWho cares if it's 120W and 150W, you just said they make the battery lose 20% of it's power, the same thing always happen to my phones after 2 years, regardless of charging speeds or phone brand so IDC anymore.
And I doubt your LG has 100% battery health, even when it was sitting in a box before you use it already lost battery health, and after a whole 2 years of usage?
Impossible, you're probably using some unreliable battery app.

And yes if phone heat even 5W charger can degrade battery a lot, i have lg g8x from 2019 and battery health is close to 100,

Interesting. Next time I prefer minimal 65W charger smartphone support.

This technology is great and all, and companies like Xiaomi proved it doesn't degrade batter much more then slower charging, but honestly it feels like it's becoming more of one-upmanship rather then geniune benifit.

Hemedans, 18 Nov 2021They do degrade battery, even Xiaomi themselves admitted it... moreStop mixing real news with your own fake news...

Xiaomi did provide data for degradation. Nowhere did they say you'll need battery replacement every two years as you claim.
It retained around 80% battery health with 120W charging over 800 charging cycles which is better than the regular low quality batteries inside Sony, Samsung and Apple which are still rated for charging below 30W.

Those phones also heat up a lot more than phones above 30W charging and keep that high temperature for longer time further contributing to degradation of their batteries.
