I also try to keep a flagship phone for 4-5 years, like I plan to keep my Oneplus 7T until either 2024 but there's a possibility I may find a phone better than it in recycling in the future, we'll see lol

I just love Samsung UI so much and I want to get the S21 coz flagships usually don't cheap out and they last pretty damn long. When I upgrade I plan to use it for at least 4,5 years. But if I'm going to be honest, Samsung has kind of lost their way starting from the s20 series, in my opinion Samsung is still better than the competition, but the gap is closing.

An older flagship is typically better than a new-ish low end phone

Actually, I am also a kid and I'm currently using an old Samsung Note 4, to put that in the number of years, this device has held up for 7 years and now the only problem I have is the battery. Going to upgrade to S21 soon if I do well in my upcoming exam, and again use it for a long long time, my goal is at least 4 years.

And comparing your mother with a child is 2 totally different universe. There are already better options for 200 bucks phones to buy for a child who will abuse it and play with it. Your mother probably dont play much on it.

              My mother have Galaxy A41 and she plays solitaire and mahjong on it time to time but mostly use it for phone function. And she got A41 cause A40 was out of stock as that A40 was more compact and she wanted small phone just cause she dont need large screen and dont also have that big bags to fit any of them in it. Also this A41 is too big for some of her bags. As she had LG Leon before that

I bought months ago an A74 for my mother and it performs very well for her needs and it should last many years, this A55s looks to be even more powerful. Teenagers don't need costly phones, just nice 1080p fair phones.

                          Nice phone. Eventually my next child's phone when the price will fall to 200.

                            oppo, vivo, realne, redmi and so on
                            rebrand after rebrand,2mp depth, macro garbage.
                            same dated design over and over.
                            just looking at the news feed makes me cringe in a not funny way.

                              bro this is worse value than Nokia

                                6.5" 90Hz LCD. When I read specs of new phones I see a bunch of the same. I can't help but think, manufacturers all make the same things with mostly the same options and wonder why only a few companies are able to sell in large quantities.
