    AnonD-844232, 23 Nov 2021I don't understand why googe won't merge messages... moreTrue .....

Why not attaching the emoji to the original message, so that it really works as a reaction? It's not that hard to take a look at the messages from the last day/week/month and find the one with that content. If none is found (i.e. user deleted the message), then, yes, please send a new message with an emoji.

EDIT: It actually is doing just that. 9to5google's post has screenshots showing reactions attached to their messages, not as individual messages with emojis, as implied by GSMArena. It is even able to accommodate the change of a reaction if the iPhone user chooses to do so. So it works as in an iPhone-to-iPhone communication.

Using Samsung A52 which has two Messages apps. One by Google and one by Samsung. Google one is very simple. Easy to use. Fast. Great app overall.

I am still using SMS organizer by Microsoft.

Not even in my country a lot of people know about that. Even my realme 7 pro default SMS app doesn't support RCS. So, your argument is less found in real life.

I'm starting to like what Google is doing with their messaging app. Finally a nice stock alternative to a sea of messaging apps that has some functions but not the others. Still far from perfect of course but a few good steps to the right direction.
